Payson's outfit

[Scene: P3. Piper is talking to the new manager.]

Man: White gauze curtains would give this place some flair. You know what I'm saying? Then we'll take out these tables over here. Replace them with mounds of pillows so people can lay back and get comfortable. You look worried, baby girl.

Piper: We – uh – Treat. I know I gave you the authority to make some changes in the club, but I thought they would happen gradually. You know, I don't want to shock the regulars.

Treat: Well, I do. All right? You're place seems too safe. Now do you trust me. Do you trust the number one club promoter in all of San Francisco?

Piper: Yes, of course...

Treat: Good. All right, guys. Rip it all out! (Payson enters.)

Payson: Oh, oh oh! Hey wait a minute! Stop! What's going on? That's our table. Who told them that they could rip out our table?

Treat: I did.

Payson: And who are you?

Piper: Payson, this is Treat Taylor. He's the new manager of P3.

Payson: Um. I'm sorry. The new what?

Piper: I just hired him on a trial basis.

Payson: Well, isn't that interesting. I need to talk to you. (Payson pulls Piper to the side.)

Piper: You look worried, honey.

Payson: Heh. Well, why didn't you tell us about this?

Piper: It just happened yesterday. Which is why I asked you to come down here today.

Payson: We said we weren't going to do this.

Piper: Uh, do what?

Payson: Make any major changes in our lives. You know, after you've...suffered a major loss. Do not sell the house. Do not get married. Do not quit your job. That kind of thing.

Piper: Okay, but like it or not, there's been a lot of changes lately, and this is hardly the biggest. (They see Paige.)

Payson: Oh, speak of the devil/whitelighter/witch. (Paige walks up to them.)

Paige: Hi, guys.

Payson: Hey! (She hugs her.)

Paige: I hope I'm not interrupting.

Payson: No, no we were just talking.

Paige: Well, I have a quick question, but it can wait. Continue.

Piper: I was just explaining to Payson that the changes I'm making in the club are not by choice. They are by necessity. Okay? P3 has been struggling a little lately and Payson hasn't done much work for the magazine.

Payson: Piper if that's what this is about, I have an appointment for a shoot this afternoon.

Piper: Uh-huh. But you'd have to do about five hundred more to just to make two hundred grand a year, and I'd rather you be free for other work.

Payson: Piper, you're over exaggerating. Once I get back into the swing of things, our income will go back to normal.

Paige: About that other work.

Piper: I will worry about the source of our income if you worry about the source of all evil.

Paige: Speaking of evil-

Piper: Besides, do you think you're up to doing photo shoots every week again?

Payson: I'm absolutely up to doing photo shoots every week, I'm sick and tired of sitting in the house on...duty. Especially with Cole gone so much. I need to find something else to occupy my time.
