Tianshi was being led to the Emperor's quarters after she was summoned by her father.
She was very worried after hearing that her father's condition was getting worse and his infection was escalating quickly.
The rush in which she was was very clear and expected of her as a very strong anxiety took over her entire body, she literally moved against her will.
They came to the doors that led to the Emperor's room and Tianshi's heart skipped a beat as she searched for the courage to go inside.
She knew that what awaited on the opposite end of the door was not something she would ever love to see and she needed all the zeal in the world to go in.
Upon opening the doors to the grand room, she spotted her step mother seated beside him and the doctor was on the Emperor's side.
The Prime Minister was present as well as the chief general while the royal vizier also cocooned himself in a nearby corner.
The Empress had a cloth on the head of her husband as the doctor slowly examined the him.
"How is he?" Bao Chan asked the doctor while Tianshi drew near to her father's bed.
His eyes were still open but not fully, it appeared as though his strength had been fully drained out of his body.
"I am sorry your Majesty but his Majesty's health is at its worst and there is nothing we can do.
His wound has started to decay and he has been under so much stress of late and has not had enough rest." The doctor said.
"Is there no slight possibility for him to recover?" The Empress asked not contented.
"I am afraid not, I cannot give you false hope at the moment and his survival shall be a miraculous one.
I am afraid that he has only a few more hours and at most not more than two days to live." The doctor replied.
Bao Chan slowly began to shed her tears.
"There must be something more that we can do, you cannot just let him die." Tianshi said as she drew attention to herself that her father seemed to then notice her presence.
"I cannot lie to you your highness and I wish that I could indeed do something about it." The doctor said.
"You may leave." The Emperor forced himself to speak and dismissed the doctor at once.
The doctor stood and kowtowed before he walked out of the room to live it silent.
Everyone was short of words and the only sounds that could be heard were Bao Chan's sobs which she seemed to try and contain but was literally failing to do so.
Tianshi could feel tears in her eyes as she stared down at her father, it was as though she could feel His pain and vulnerability surging through her body.
Her father seemed to stair into her scarlet eyes that seemed to sparkle because of the tears, they were brilliant even at his point of view, every inch the same color as her hair.
Tianshi was now another beauty that he had not seen before, she seemed to have evolved into something better, something only His eyes could spot out.
"Tianshi." The Emperor slowly called her name as he lifted his hand towards her.
She moved closer and knelt beside her father's bed to hold his hand.
It had a mild warmth that seemed to wrestle with the cold and his eyes seemed to strain themselves open.
