The young Emperor rode a beautiful white stallion as his right general Gang Lee followed closely behind with their two horses supporting some light luggage.

They had ridden for a while as they approached the beautiful Qingdao riding through the nearby bamboo forest.

They were dressed like common people that one would not be able to actually tell that they were from the palace.

"Your Majesty, we are almost there." Gang Lee said.

"I know." The Emperor replied.

His mind wandered off elsewhere and Gang Lee noticed that the Emperor was absent minded throughout most of it.

He would occasionally tell him that they were getting nearer or how long they had been moving but the Emperor was keen enough to listen to every word that he said to prevent him from asking why he was absent minded.

The Emperor was indeed absent minded and he had the right to be, his thoughts always danced in the memories of someone he knew, someone who was so dear to him.

He always had the sadness in his heart and it was never his parents, every time, it was someone else.

The young Prince despite being a very young and Charming man, he was unmarried but it was always because he had a special someone in his life before.

"Is it Lei Lani?" Gang Lee asked.

"What?" The Emperor asked as though shocked that it looked like his right hand man was psychic.

"You know it Your Majesty." Gang Lee added as though intentionally pressing and scratching the scars of the young Emperor's past life.

He let his mind stroll through the memories when he was young.

It was as fresh as ten years ago when he was fifteen years of age and so was his young love.

Lei Lani was a very beautiful young girl, she was very charming and grew with her family in close relations with the royal family of the Wangguan Empire.

This friendship of theirs that was childhood began to blossom as the two became very great friends that even they had become so fond of each other.

Lao Yueliang always praised the young pretty girl before her father that even after they grew so close, the village called Lei Lani Mrs Lao.

Everyone would suspect that they were closer than that and at the time many would see Lei Lani as their future Empress.

When Lei Lani turned Fifteen years, Lao Yueliang wanted to surprise her and then he decided to take her on a boat ride at sea.

The two were rowing through the waves careful not to row far away from the coast but just as they were still having a very good time, the sky darkened.

Lei Lani Asked them to row back a shore but Lao Yueliang was reluctant because he wanted to show her around the entire place, to the rocks and caves at the coast.

After a while, the tides began to rise and  in an attempt to sail back to the coast, the boat was hit with a very huge wave.

The boat was instantly broken into two and the two were separated by the water.

Lao Yueliang looked around and spotted the young girl struggling against her heavy garments to float.

The Prince swam over to her and supported her but just then, another wave washed them apart and sent Lei Lani towards the rocks.

Lei Lani could not control her movements and suddenly, before she knew it, her head hit a rock leaving her skull heavily concussed.

The Prince swam over to her but she was losing her strength and consciousness as she heavily bled and fell dizzy.
