The Emperor arrived into the throne room where all his generals and ministers were gathered.
They all stood up as he slowly made his way to the throne ahead before facing them and kowtowing.
They did the same before he sat down and they followed.
"Your Majesty, may you live forever but we are here because the people are concerned." The Minister of state affairs said.
"What is the people's concern?" The Emperor asked.
"Your Majesty, the death of the Crown Prince has for sure rose enough concern from the public and people need to know who your successor shall be." The Minister replied.
"My successor?" The Emperor asked.
"Exactly." The Minister replied.
"My successor shall be my one and only daughter Tianshi." The Emperor reluctantly said as the rest of the congregation looked at him nonchalantly.
"Are you serious your Majesty?" One of the Generals asked.
"I am very serious as a matter of fact." the Emperor said somehow adding a bit of zeal to his reluctant tone.
"Never your Majesty, never has it been, not now not ever, our ancestors kept the line of ancestry pure and never at a time did a woman sit on the throne." Another minister said.
"He is right your Majesty, the laws have always been clear and now the seat is not fit for any woman.
We shall appear weak in the eyes of our enemies and vassals and the Empire shall fall." Another minister added.
"The ancient decree permits her to take her place because as much as we all know, she has my same blood flowing through her veins." The Emperor said.
"She is a woman, very young and naive and she cannot do the job that was set aside for men." A general said.
"But she has been Empowered by ancient decree and there is nothing that we can do about it.
She may be young but she can learn the very best conduct before she can assume the throne." The Emperor said.
"It is in nature for her to be aquatinted with politics but not involved in them because she is expected to be a consort.
She does not have what it takes to live the political life that is required of her as she must be both a States person and a warrior.
All that she has done from a tender age is to dress expensively and be prepared to be married off to a wealthy family." Another Minister said.
"She has been trained combat and is well versed with the modern and ancient techniques.
I do not have much time left and she might get married to someone who shall cease the throne and bring the Empire down.
She is our only hope and the reason that our Empire may continue to stand, after what happened to the She'ngda troops shall buy us enough time.
They shall take long to bounce back from the effects of the war and that shall truly help in scaring away any other enemies that would wish to overthrow the Empire." The Emperor said.
"No, if other territories learn that we have are answerable to a new Supreme, young and worse a woman, what do you think they shall think of us.
We shall be undermined and some shall gain confidence to attack us and take the capital, a man as our head poses a threat to our enemies and their allies." A minister said.
"If you must have an heir, you must remarry a young woman and have a son." A general said.
"I do not have the time, my days to live have been numbered and greatly reduced, you must swear allegiance to my daughter and loyalty to her." The Emperor said.
