Eli & Rox: chapter 3

chapter three

20 minutes later she had calmed herself down.

Eli who had moved back to his original location was once again sprawled on top of the bed. he had not stopped gazing at her and she wasn't sure what to make of it. clearly, he had some issues.

now though, as her heart was beating steadily in her chest- well as steady as possible when Eli was around- and her crazy emotions had dissipated, she realised just how cold the room felt.

"where are we?" she opened her eyes and asked confused. sure, in Oxford the climate got very cold but never this cold.

"French alps, Grenoble." he replied. Rocsi's mouth formed a perfect O but she shut it quick.

"hmm." she commented not sure what to make of it.

he smiled but then he turned serious. "well, i guess we have to talk. about us i mean."

Rocsi didn't reply. to be honest she didn't want to talk about it. she didn't want to relive it. she didn't want to understand. she just wanted to leave it alone and move on.

but how are am i supposed to move on if i cant even bring myself to think about it? her more rational side told her.

so she said; "OK, so talk."

he gave her a look but proceeded anyway. "well as you know, William turned me. into a-"

"i know." she cut in. "what happend after though. you just woke up and thought 'ive had enough' and walked out?"

"no, of course not. i woke up vampire and had was literally dying of thirst. for blood. human blood. i wasn't thinking straight at the time. i went crazy. i just went roaming the streets drinking of people. not enough to kill them. but enough for them to pass out. i didn't even bother looking at their faces. all i wanted was blood and that what i got. but then after a couple of hours i started to calm down and realised that i couldn't go back to you. your human. i was scared that i would go crazy again and suck you dry." he grimaced.

she scowled at his choice of words. "so you just left. without even saying good bye. without even having the decency to break it off face-to-face. you just left me there to deal with it.. i didn't even know what to think. all i knew was that one day your there and the next your not. your a selfish prick just like everyone else in my life- only looking out for number one."

"wrong. as much as you like to think i don't love you, you are wrong. i love you OK, always have always will. i know this isn't the first time I've hurt you but this time i swear to you i genuinely thought i was doing the right thing."

"shut up!" she whispered fiercely, her frame starting to tremble again. "i don't want to hear this. i don't want to listen to this just shut up, shut up, shut up." he didn't love her and she didn't love him back she told herself trying to calm down. love was just a word. there was nothing behind it. it was all bullshit. just another way to hurt someone.

after a moments silence he continued; "so i didn't want to hurt you again, so i went in search of this vamp. that id heard of that could apparently make people- humans- forget things. like completely. so i tracked her down and asked her to do me a favour. at first she refused but my charming personality and amazing looks must have broke her down-"

he smiled, jokingly but she didn't react. he continued anyway "so, she wiped me out from your memory so that you'd forget me completely. so you could just continue on with your life without having me jeopardizing it all the time. you could just be a normal girl. at the time i didn't know you were a witch. you didn't either. nobody did. so it didn't occur to me that her powers wouldn't work on you. that they would just go over your head. by the time I'd realised what you were- are, William had realised it also. he ordered me to capture you so that he could sacrifice you for power. he didn't and still doesn't know that we know each other. hell i don't think he even knows what you look like!" he doesn't know that i love you. he added silently.
