get it do you?! he whispered into her mind. she could feel his anger seeping through his words and that seriously pissed her off.

"no, you don't get it." she shouted. " you are the only person Iveever let meself trust, you are the only person who has the power to hurt me and you are the onlyperson who has truly hurt me not once but twice and for what? because your a vampire??  we could have worked it out y'know but no! its all about you isn't it?! and to top it all off your going to break my heart AGAIN. so what now, you think that you can just kiss me and everything will be all fine and fucking dandy. well guess what?! its NOT. so stop acting like you fucking care because you don't. you never have and you never will. so just take me your William and kill me already cause i just cant take it anymore!" she broke off sobbing her heart out."

"that's what you think?" he yelled back. "I FUCKING LOVE YOU YOU STUPID BEAUTIFUL GIRL ! ever since that day on that beach when i first laid my eyes on you i have loved you. do you remember? you were so high and just quietly lying on the sand staring at the stars in the sky. when i came and sat down near to you, you looked at me and told me that i was the most beautiful boy you'd ever seen in the whole wide world. when i told you that i could rock your world, you smiled and told me 'maybe so, but you'll break my heart afterwards, just like everyone else'.

"you looked so fragile and messed up but still so so beautiful and i remember thinking that if this this girl ever becomes mine ill do everything to keep her safe and loved and ill make sure that no one ever hurts her.

"and yeah i have fucked up OK but never intentionally & i genuinely thought i was doing the right thing when i left you after becoming a vamp. so i am sorry, so very sorry that i keep breaking your heart and i understand that you can't forgive me but if you think that I'm just going to hand you over to William the you are WRONG- so wrong. i told you that i could rock your world but really you've rocked my world and there is no way in hell that I'm gonna let anyone- anyone hurt you let alone kill

chapter eight

after he was done, he sat there staring into her eyes intently trying to figure out what she was thinking. she stared back but her face was still carefully blank.

"Roxanne, say something- please." he finally pleaded.

"i.. i love you too.." she whispered.

"but?" he had picked up on her tone.

"i cant do this. its not you- it me. like you said- I'm messed up. i cant trust people- even you.. im sorry." she finished lamely.

when he didn't comment she added; "so, i guess you gonna give me over then."

his eyes flashed. "of course not! i still mean everything i said."

gratitude washed through rocsi. "so what now?"

"well, we have 2 days before William attacks."

"OK so do we fight back or run?"

"first we run and then we fight."

"right. so you know any places we can seek refuge?"

"i think so. wait here, I'll be back in 5." and with that he kissed the top of her head and vanished.

he was back in 4.

"i got a place where we can crash." he said and started gathering his and her clothes and putting them in a messenger bag hurriedly. "you got everything you need?" he asked after he was done.

"yeah." she answered.

"alright, c'mere." he said as he hoisted the messenger bag over a his body. she came and he grabbed her hand pulling her into a hug.

"im sorry." she mumbled into his chest.

"sorry? why? all this is my own stupid fault."

"no, i mean I'm sorry for the way i am- i cant give you what you want and its probably killing you."

"shh," he said placing a finger on her mouth "- for me your perfect. and you've given me more than youve ever given anyone else, more than i deserve even though i fucked it up. dont apologise.

you ready to go?" he asked.

"mm." she replied.

his grip around her waist tightened and a bright white light flashed before her eyes.

one moment she was in eli's bedroom in Grenoble and the next she was in an unfamiliar living room. she gasped and looked up to eli.

wow, her mouth silently worded. he smiled back.

i've always wanted to show you this. he whispered into her mind.

"it's amazing.." she whispered back. not mentally, of course.

someone cleared their throat behind her. she whirled round surprised.

"hey," the stranger smiled. "wow you really are beautiful in a wild kinda way."

"uhh.. thanks," she frowned, consciously running a hand through her hair. "who are you?"
