Eli & Rox: chapter 9

"hey," the stranger smiled. "wow, you really are beautiful in a wild kind of way."

"uh.. thanks," she frowned running a hand consciously through her hair. "who are you?"

chapter nine

he walked forward and held out a hand. she pulled out her own thinking he wanted to shake it but he took it and bent down to kiss the top of her knuckles. Eli's arms which were still around her waist tightened reflexively.

"hmm, and i thought our Elijah here was.. exaggerating. but no. you sure are a picture."

Roxi pulled her hand away and backed away into Eli.

Eli intervened; "Rox, this is Samuel Rodriguez. he's half vampire and half witch- a hybrid."

"cool.. so are you friends?" she asked tentatively.

"no." they both answered at once.

Samuel smiled dryly. "I'm just doing him a favour."

"please, you wanna destroy him even more that i do! and you owe me. don't forget."

"well, then I'm paying you back." Samuel retorted.

"OK OK, guys. lets just focus on the main problem here." rocsi cut in, stepping out from between them and raising her hands. "Samuel, your half witch right? so how do you.. control your powers.. i mean how do you make 'em do stuff?"

"what can you do so far?"

"not much, just call objects to come to me and then make 'em go away."

"she can also call me." Eli added.

"how do you mean?"

"its hard to explain. she wasn't calling me telepathically if that's what your asking. it was more like an instinctive feeling."

"OK, well thats not so unusual.

"usually in the supernatural world when two people have a specail bond they are able to communicate in other ways than just verbally. however, it does depend on how strong the bond is and how powerful the two people are."

he turned to adress rocsi; "being a witch is easy. you just have to imagine what you want and then.. make it happen.

"here- allow me to demonstrate; i want an..  apple. so, i think about an apple and how i.. want it," he closed his eyes and held up an arm, palm side up. an apple appeared out of nowhere.

he smirked; "voila ! now you try."

"sure." rox closed her eyes and imagined candyfloss.

suddenly it was there. she gasped, pleased. "cool." she smiled and nibbled at the sweet. 

"there are limits to what you cant do," Samuel warned. "and the only way you can gain more power to be able to do more things is when you sacrifice either a witch or a vampire. but don't worry, your one of them strong ones- a Halliwell. i can tell by your hair."

"excuse me?"

"what did i say?"

"I'm a.. Halliwell?" she struggled to get the name out, her hand automatically reached out for eli's. she held onto it with a deadly grip. "who are they?"

"uhh.. only the most powerful clan around! how do you not know this?"

after a time of silence, eli spoke quietly; "she was abandoned as a child."

"oh.. I'm sorry."

Roxanne didn't speak for a moment but then said "its cool, whatever." she gave a nonchalant shrug and moved on. "OK so what are we gonna do about William?"

"kill him of course." Samuel replied fiercely.

"kill him? why?"

he sacrificed his sister, Mercedes. eli whispered into her mind the same time samuel said; "he killed my sister- in front of me. he was gonna kill me too."

"what happened?" rocsi asked quietly.

"elijah helped me escape." ahh so that's what eli was referring to when he told samuel he was in debt.

not wanting to cause him more pain, rox decided to change the subject. "OK so lets see. we have 3 young, inexperienced.... supernatural beings? and one very highly experienced vampire who is, lets be honest, much much stronger that the three of us put together. what do you propose we do?" 

"whoa-ho-ho. who you callin inexperienced?! i got plenty of experience- me." Samuel cut in.

"shut up," Eli grinned. "i got turned before you did so I'm the one with the most experience."

"yeah? well i got backup."

twenty minutes later the living room was crowded with 4 vampires, 12 witches and 3hybrids, not including Eli, Rox and Samuel.

Rocsi could feel the begginings of a battle starting to form.  one thing was certain

- William had a lot of enemies and they all wanted revenge.
