Claire’s POV
.
.

"M-Miss Sky?" Felix stuttered, looking at me with wide eyes.

‘'Hello, Mr. Lee." I said, unamused.
"Would you mind.."

"Yeah! Yeah, I'm s-sorry." He stood up, regret and a dark blush drawn all over his face.

He shyly helped me up, avoiding any eye contact.

My friend, Rachel, ran out of the house to find out what happened, as we had made a lot of noise.

"Claire? Felix? What happened?" She asked, concerned.

"We're okay, baby. Relax." I assured her.

"Wait, Ray.."
"Miss Sky is one of your friends?" Felix asked, as his jaw dropped.

‘’My best friend to be exact.
And.. Miss Sky?’’ She tilted her head, confused.

‘’I'm guessing that's your brother, Ray." I sighed.
"I'm his French teacher."

Rachel and the other boy- that had returned after he saw Felix had stopped chasing him- widened their eyes at my words.

"Oh. That's a funny coincidence." Rachel let out an awkward laugh.

"Uhh what just happened back there? I heard a scream and something falling on the ground."

The boy, that I supposed was Felix's friend, tried to stop himself from busting to laughter, as he had witnessed the whole thing.

'Well, that's embarrassing.'

"I kind of.. landed on Miss Sky, as I was chasing Chan?" Felix said, more flustered than ever.

"Felix. What. The. Fuck." Rachel said,  ready to snap at him.

"I'm okay Ray, don't worry. Leave the kid alone."

"Just be more careful next time, okay?" I turned to Felix and he nodded nervously in response.

Felix's friend snorted, unable to hold it in anymore.
Felix and I gave him a glare, making him freeze.

"Sorry." He said, shyly.

‘’Ah Claire, this is Chan. He is a family friend.’’ Rachel said in an attempt to lighten the mood.

‘’Nice to meet you.’’ Chan said with a nervous smile, as he shaked my hand.

‘’Thank you. It’s.. very nice to meet you as well.’’ I smiled back.

I turned to look at Felix, who had been awfully silent for some time.
I noticed him stare at me, but as soon as I made eye contact with him, he looked away.

'Such a shy little thing..'

‘’We should be going now!’’
‘’We have a sleepover to organise as well.’’ Chan winked at him.

"Yeah! Yeah, let's go."

He grabbed his stuff that had fallen on the grass and walked to his sister, giving her a hug. ‘’Bye Ray!'’

‘’Goodbye, Miss Sky.’’ He said a tone lower than usual, giving me a shy smile.

His deep voice caught me by surprise again, as I couldn’t get used to it.

‘’Have fun!’’ Said Rachel.

‘’You too!’’ Chan said flashing us his dimples, as they waved goodbye.

They left with Chan's car and we went back inside the house to prepare for the sleepover.

Some time had passed and I quietly murmured the lyrics of a song, as I lied down on the floor.

I turned to face Rachel, who really surprised me with the weird look she was giving me.

An evil smirk spread on her face and I couldn’t quite understand what it meant.

"Oh no, she has something dumb to say again.." I whispered.

‘’So.. What do you think of my little brother?’’ She asked, her evil smirk turning into a big smile.

'Oh-'

‘’He is, uh.. interesting.’’

‘’Just interesting?’’ She wiggled her eyebrows.

‘’I met him this morning, so I don’t have much to say about him, I guess. He seems like a nice kid though..’’

"Mmhm." She smiled.

‘’Is he always that shy?’’

Rachel laughed at my question and nodded.

‘’I don’t know why, but yeah.’’
‘’It’s one of his cute habits, to get all red and flustered when he meets new people." She said.

"Yeah, we didn't really meet under good circumstances."

‘’You know.. I had to keep the whole 'strict teacher' look going on when I met him in class, because he was late.’’ I said, feeling kinda bad.

‘’Oh no! You probably scared the kid.’’ She said, sarcastically.

‘’Oh, shut up!’’ I laughed and hit her arm playfully.

"Agh!" She immediately fell on the ground, acting like she was in a lot of pain.

Such a drama queen.

‘’I hate your dramatic ass.’’ I told her, unamused and she gasped.

"Bitch!" She shouted, as she started chasing me around the house, both of us laughing uncontrollably.

The rest of the girls arrived soon after and the fun started.

That night I realized, nothing could satisfy me more than seeing Rachel laugh again.

Especially after what had happened last year.
