"This is so exciting!" Emma exclaimed, setting her backpack down on the road next to her feet.

"What's exciting about a haunted house?" Hyunjin scoffed, kicking a pebble that was in his way.

"Abandoned." Minho corrected.

"Whatever." He snorted, tying his long hair to keep it from getting in his face.

"Cheer up, Hwang! We all signed up for this. Yourself included" Emma ruffled the boy's hair, chuckling at his defeated expression.

"Are the others close?" Minho asked Jeongin, who had just finished talking with Chan over the phone.

"Yeah, they'll be here in five." The boy smiled warmly.

"What is this place anyway?"

"Just a normal house. Don't know any details other than no one has lived here since the 80s" Emma explained, to which he responded with a hum.

"So it's not haunted?" Minho asked, trying to tease Hyunjin.

"Could be." Emma joined in, smiling as she caught a glimpse of Hyunjin's lowkey panicked face.

"Who chose this house again?" Asked Jeongin, eyeing the tall building curiously.

"I did." Seungmin admitted with a bright smile as he caught up to his friends.

"Hi, Seungmo" They smiled back, looking over his shoulder to spot the rest of the group walking over to them with fast steps.

Jisung and Felix, they figured, weren't really having the time of their lives at that moment.

They had been the most reluctant when the idea of exploring an abandoned building was suggested, but after a lot of blackmail- or as Rachel liked to call it, convincing -they had finally given in.

"Let's get this over with." Jisung sighed, rubbing his arms in an attempt to warm himself.

The cold wind was harsh on their skin, making them want to get in that house as fast as possible.

"Shall we?" Chan suggested as he helped Rachel fix the mess that the wind had made of her hair.

Felix gulped, staring up at the tall building and feeling chills rise on his skin.

The grey paint covering the walls had worn out, making it clear no one had taken care of that house in years.

One of the two front windows was flung open and the glass on it had broken, Felix assumed, because of the constant banging against its frame.

They walked closer to the entrance, where Felix was able to get a better look of the house's outer appearance and all its freaky details.

The wooden door was swollen and cracked, a big hole on its left down corner revealing a small part of the room behind it.

Minho stepped on the dusty, almost completely ruined welcome mat on the house's doorstep and pushed the door open.

The creaking sound it made combined with his friend having to destroy a whole lot of spider webs to enter it made Felix shudder.

Turning on the flashlight on his phone along with everyone else, he took a look around the house, holding his breath as if someone- or something -would hear and catch them immediately if he didn't.

He lit the area under him, making sure there was nothing on the floor he could stumble on before moving further into the room.

The house seemed even bigger on the inside, tall, dark green walls towering over them and reaching the ceiling that held a very pretty, yet rusty and worn down chandelier.
