The male, for all his bravado and exploration, is the loyal one, the one who generally feels love. The female is skilled at betrayal and torture and damnation.

If feeling snubbed wasn't one of Chan's pet peeves before entering Shujin Academy, it was now after joining NCT 127. He saw the eyes of the students, passing through the halls, lay on him with curiosity, fear, and fascination.

However, he didn't get the same looks from his friends. Only Wendy managed to speak with him whilst everyone else turned the other cheek. Even Chaeyoung, Chan's secret admirer. Wendy was familiar with the feeling but not as bad as Chan. She herself was cautious around Chan because he was affiliated with the people she truly disliked (except for Doyoung).

It was a peculiar feeling for Chan. One side saying he doesn't need them and the other side saying he did what was best for him. Besides... This is what happens when you burn the most important bridges of your life.

"I'm surprised no one hasn't beat you up for that." Wendy giggles.

"I guess they didn't want to waste their energy on me." Chan sighed as he gripped the straps of his black backpack.

"Likely so." Wendy nodded. She noticed the gloomy yet regretful look on Chan's face. She stopped walking with him and placed her hand on his shoulder.

"Look," Wendy began, "I know you're sad how everything turned out, how everyone fears or hates you but you can prove to them that you're not a gullible hyena-like everyone else. Maybe joining... that clan... will make you a noble person. Things happen for a reason, Chan."

Chan gave a soft smile at Wendy. Wendy did the same as well. "Thank you, Wendy," Chan murmured in English.

"Your welcome. Besides, you saved my life. It's the best I can do." Wendy whispered in English. She gave a wink to Chan as he softly chuckled.

"Channie!"

Chan looks up and sees Hana waving and walking towards him. Her long raven black hair was pulled into a low ponytail. Her long bangs were brushed to the side almost covering her left eye. She still looked super pretty to Chan.

"Well, that's my cue to leave." Wendy sighed, resuming to speak in Korean. The displeasing look on her face was noticeable when she saw Hana. "Good luck dealing with the crowds at lunch."

Wendy hurried off in the opposite direction as Chan kept his eyes on Wendy. She clutched her books tighter to her chest. Wendy was much more expressive, unlike the last time he's been with her alone, super timid and hesitant.

"Was that Wendy?" Hana arched her eyebrow at Chan.

"Oh yeah," Chan snapped out of his gaze, "She and I are good friends."
