Without change there is no innovation, creativity, or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage the change that is inevitable.

"I'm surprised you actually go here," Chan told to Nayeon, leaning against the metal railing.

They watched the students linger around the halls or heading to class. The same old slow morning. She looked over at Chan. "I'm surprised you're still alive," Nayeon replies.

Chan felt a sting in his heart. He remembered how he felt when Nayeon moved away. How they both lost contact with each other after middle school. Even Chan's grandmother didn't even know where Nayeon moved to. He didn't want to believe she returned back to Korea which sadly happened for Nayeon.

"I heard about your grandma. I'm really sorry." Nayeon grasped Chan's hand.

"It's fine. I know how much you wanted to..." Chan quietly said, pulling his hand away. "It was hard letting her go."

Nayeon sadly smiled. "At least you found me. I'm part of your family." Nayeon squeezed Chan's shoulder. Chan smiles back at Nayeon. He remembers her cute bunny smile. She always gets mad when he calls her "Hopper".

"I'm guessing you got into this school with connections, right?" Nayeon eyed at Chan with a smirk.

Chan cocked his head to the side. "It's actually really complicated. My first week here wasn't the best. I almost left." Chan replies.

"Me too. Mines was a living hell." Nayeon sighed, dropping her arms over the railing.

Chan softly laughed at Nayeon. "Well I'm glad you stayed or we wouldn't be able to see each other again. I didn't want to lose my best friend."

Nayeon inched closer to Chan. She rested her head on his shoulder. Chan knew exactly that feeling. Being lonely was not the best at all.

"So how did you get into this school?" Chan then asked Nayeon.

"Oh, I just won a scholarship from them," Nayeon answered, nonchalantly, staring off to space. She then glanced back at Chan. "Did you forget I was smarter than you?"

Chan laughed. "Of course I didn't. Always had straight As while I had Bs and Cs."

"So who's your guardian now that your grandmother is gone?" Nayeon asked an alarming question.
