It had been a week and Hongjoong's condition was growing worse.
"You need to get checked out." Seonghwa advised.
"It's probably just a really bad cold it will go away soon, I just need rest." Hongjoong turned away closing his eyes.
The truth is Hongjoong was in a lot of pain, his body ached and with every cough it burned. He didn't want Seonghwa to worry and this wasn't ideal taken that he wanted to take care of Seonghwa. Here Hongjoong is once again n the other male's care like clockwork.
"I will strap you down and carry you into a doctors office if I have to Kim Hongjoong." Seonghwa threatened.
"Yeah you should listen to Seonghwa because you look absolutely terrible. I don't know how Seonghwa is able to look at you still." Wooyoung teased. Hongjoong glared afraid to say anything so that he won't have another coughing fit.
"Please?" Seonghwa took Hongjoong's hand into his and pleaded for the other to just comply.
"F-fine..." Hongjoong gave in.
"Great because I've set up an appointment for you." Seonghwa beamed.
"So I never had a choice to begin with." Hongjoong frowned.
"Of course not." Seonghwa patted Hongjoong's head before leaving him to rest.
It was the next day and Hongjoong was in the waiting room halfway asleep on Seonghwa's shoulder.
"Kim Hongjoong?" The nurse read from his clipboard. Hongjoong perked up and made his way to the nurse.
"Please follow me, your friend there too."
Hongjoong hated coming to the hospital it always took so long despite there not being a lot of people. The smell was sickly as well and he always felt like he'd just catch something. They took a seat in one of the back rooms after they checked the basic things like weight and whatnot.
"Great another waiting room just smaller than the first." Hongjoong sarcastically commented.
The room smelled like sweat and puke. Hongjoong examined the couple across from them they were older and very obese. The man was sweating as if he were in the bits of hell and the women didn't look to great either.
"This was a bad idea." Hongjoong whispered making awkward eye contact with the man.
"Maybe we should just wait outside." Seonghwa suggested and that was the only thing he'd said so far that sounded right to Hongjoong.
The two moved to the benches in the hallway just outside of the room they were in. They watched as multiple nurses walked in and out before finally seeing the couple leave.
"That could be us." Hongjoong slumped back in his seat.
"Hongjoong you're such a baby." Seonghwa poked the others thigh.
"I just hate waiting only for them to send me out with some papers and I probably won't get medication." He huffed.
"You don't know that Hongjoong."
"I'm telling you it's going to be a simple cold that's taking awhile to go away," he shrugged.
"Kim Hongjoong?" Another nurse called out.
"Here," Hongjoong got up quickly.
"We have a room ready for you," they followed her around the corner and down the hall. The rooms they could see into had all types of people.
"What seems to be troubling you today Hongjoong," she asked typing away on her computer.
"Well I've been sick for about a week mainly coughing, my body aches, and I feel weak."
"Have you had a fever?"
"Yes when I first started to feel ill." The lady then asked for his birthdate and other information leaving him with Seonghwa and the TV afterwards.
"Now I sit here flip through channels like I care what's on until the doc comes."
"I saw some vending machines on the way here would you like anything?" Seonghwa asked.
"Some chips and a sprite please." Seonghwa nodded and left.
Hongjoong stopped at a channel talking about medical stuff. He had no idea but as he flipped through the channels and passed it twice he felt the need to go back and watch. It was an older man being interviewed on his recent findings.
"Dr. Keller can you please tell us the symptoms of this virus and how dangerous it really is?" The reporter questioned.
"Well it starts off looking like an old cold pretty soon you'll show symptoms similar to the flu, but then it grows ten times worse and is more fatal than the flu. To put it simply it's the flu on steroids." He answered calmly.
"Could one die from this virus?"
"Yes, just as people have died from the flu. We are currently working on a vaccine as well as finding it's origin."
"Is there any advise you can give so that we can protect ourselves?"
"Make sure to practice good hygiene and when going out masks would be very helpful until we can figure out how to beat it."
This was not sitting right with Hongjoong it freaked him out. The man stared blankly at his reflection in the window. When Seonghwa arrived back he was left confused.
"Hongjoong? Are you alright? Do I need to get someone?" Seonghwa asked a million questions to which Hongjoong answered none.
"I'm going to die Seonghwa..." he whispered.
"No you're not what are you talking about?"
"Then why did we come here? I swear I just have a cold." Hongjoong played with the end of his shirt.
"Hongjoong we're just here to see if we can get you some medicine. What are you on about?" Seonghwa was becoming worried.
"What if there isn't any medicine. What if I have that new virus."
"You probably don't, you're just paranoid relax some." Seonghwa attempted to soothe him. Someone in the room next door began to cough and it sounded nasty and terrible. Hongjoong flinched and quickly covered his mouth with the blanket he was given.
"The air is bad." His voice was muffled from the blanket.
"Hongjoong it's okay."
The doctor finally came in which startled Hongjoong even more. After asking more questions and going to look at test, Hongjoong was left waiting again.
"Hello again Mr. Kim it seems you may have started with a cold, but you've been stressed lately so it's being dragged out. Simply cough medicine should do the trick and just taking it easy. My nurse here will see you out."
"See Hongjoong you aren't dying."
"Yeah well we still came here for no reason I knew it was going to be a stupid cold."
