Hongjoong woke up with a weight on his left hand. His head was pounding and his vision blurred as he adjusted to the dimmed lighting. He looked down his side and noticed Seonghwa next to him. What a familiar position despite him trying to help Seonghwa it always ended up the other way around. Hongjoong squeezed Seonghwa's hand before pulling it away to play with the older's blond locks.
"Hongjoong," someone whispered from his other side. This is when he noticed the other bodies in the room. The hospital room.
"You're awake, I'll call the nurse." Wooyoung swiftly moved out of the room.
"What happened?" Hongjoong asked Mingi who was seated at the end of the bed.
"You jumped and fell into an old run down car with Grimes' son...he died on impact, but since you were on top of him you made it." Hongjoong recalled the last few minutes before he jumped but nothing after.
"Are you okay?" Hongjoong wasn't as worried about himself he sat up quickly and felt a sharp pain in his arm.
"Careful your shoulders a little fucked up and they say you have a concussion as well." Mingi made Hongjoong relax and lay back down.
"Are you okay Mingi?" Hongjoong asked again.
"I'm fine Hongjoong," Mingi chuckled. His hand began to shake again and he caught it like before.
"No you're not." Hongjoong sat up again this time waking up Seonghwa.
"Hongjoong," his voice was groggy and he smiled still half asleep.
"You're supposed to be laying down." Seonghwa gently pushed him back.
"I got checked out and I'm getting treated properly it's just my hands will probably shake for the rest of my life." Mingi explained.
"I also have hella hospital bills to pay...goddamn technology." Mingi rolled his eyes making Hongjoong chuckle. Wooyoung finally came back with a nurse who then checked up on Hongjoong. The doctor came in and explained more of the situation and the release papers were being filled out.
"I think we should start a game called 'How Long Can Hongjoong Go Without Getting Injured'." Wooyoung joked as they helped guide Hongjoong out.
"Haha very funny," Hongjoong rolled his eyes.
"You're lucky I can't beat your ass right now." He huffed. Mingi slapped Wooyoung in the back of the head.
"Ow, you're supposed to be on my side." Wooyoung pouted.
"Thanks Mingi." Hongjoong smiled.
"No problem."
"You gave us a good scare when you jumped you idiot." Seonghwa glared.
"I'm sorry I just wanted you to be okay."
"We could've figured out another way, you're so reckless."
"But you still like me." Hongjoong teased.
"No, I love you." Seonghwa spoke softly.
"I love you too." Hongjoong grasped Seonghwa's hand and pulled him down for a kiss.
"If you love me can you stop getting hurt like this? I don't want you to end up...unlucky." Seonghwa shivered at the thought.
"I'll be more careful if it means I'm guaranteed to come back home to you." Hongjoong leaned in for another kiss, but this time their lips lingered on each others longer.
