I woke up with no remnants of nightmares in my mind. I rolled over to check the clock and froze at the figure in my room. My eyes adjusted and I sat up. "Jarvis lights." The lights in my room clicked on and the figure disappeared. That's weird. I checked the clock on my bedside table, reading the time as 8 AM. I got out of bed, stretching and scratching my bare chest. "Peter?" Cap's voice rang from outside my door as a knock sounded. "Come in!" The door opened and I grabbed a shirt from my closet. "Clint, Nat and I were going to...What are those scars?" I tilted my head back. "Cap you're going to have to be more specific, I have a lot of them." Including the ones from before Spiderman. "The ones on your chest...those look like surgery scars." My eyes widened. "Uh those? Those are nothing. A procedure I had done as a kid to check an abnormality in my lungs." He looked unconvinced but ultimately left it alone. "Clint, Nat and I are going to train, want to join?" Something moved out of the corner of my eye and I tilted my head to look at it. A blurred dark figure dissipated. "Sure, I'll be down in a moment." Cap left my room and I changed into sweatpants. "Jarvis when is my appointment with Strange?" "Your appointment is set at 2:15 PM, should I remind you an hour before?" "Yes please." I grabbed my suit from the hanger I left it on last night. I pulled the suit on over my sweatpants and bare chest, leaving the mask off. I left my room, my head in the clouds.
I got to the training room and found Clint, Nat and Cap in training clothes. Clint's the first to notice me. "Hey kid, you didn't have to wear the suit." They've been trying to get me to ease into it. "I know, I felt like I should." Something in me told me I had to. I put my mask on and shot a web up to the rafters. I swung up, sticking my feet on the beam I attached the web to. I hung upside down for a moment, breathing deeply. The hair's on my neck stood up and I swung to the wall closest to me. In that same moment, Clint shot an arrow at me. For the next hour, the three tested me on reflexes and reaction time. Everything was running smoothly until I heard a distinct, "I love you," in my ears. A shiver ran down my spine and I started to tear up, I had to remind myself that May's gone.
I lost balance and fell. I fell 20 feet from the ceiling to the mat. In that short time, I saw May's face in my vision, and I cried out for her when I hit the floor. I didn't stay awake long enough to feel the pain that surely followed.

Natasha, Steve and Clint watched in horror as Peter fell from the ceiling. "May!" Peter yelled out as he hit the mat. The sickening crunch of some bones were heard. That was enough for the heroes to begin running. "Jarvis! Call for Tony, tell him it's an emergency." Steve commanded. He knelt down next to the boy and slowly pulled off his mask. His closed eyes and uneven breathing told Steve he's unconscious. The training room's door flew open and the rest of the Avengers ran in. "What happened?" Nat put her fingers to Pete's neck. "He's got a strong pulse." Tony grabbed Steve's shoulder. "We were testing him, Nat had just shot a round at him and he dodged it. He froze and fell. He yelled out May when he hit the ground." "We need to get him to the medical bay." Banner muttered. Steve put his hands on Peter's chest, lightly feeling for any injuries. Unfortunately the boy woke up at the touch.Peter
I cried out at the pressure in my chest. "Steve don't touch him." I opened my eyes and blinked to clear my blurry vision. "Is she okay?" I breathed out. "Is who okay?" Tony came into view and knelt down beside me. "May, I heard her, is she okay?" Tony's eyes flashed with emotion before he turned to someone. "Strange I think I know what's happening." Tony stood up and Banner took his place. "Pete it looks like you broke some ribs and an arm. I'm going to have to pick you up." I shook my head. Banner began to pick me up and I cried out, black dots entering my line of sight. "Stop!" Banner stopped moving and I squeezed my eyes shut. "Please knock me out, for the love of God Banner, knock me the fuck out." "Nat." My vision went dark and I was asleep before I could say anything more."Peter?" I turned in the dark room and came face to face with May. I tried to run to her, but my feet stuck in place. Her kind eyes turned fearful. "Peter!" Her cries echoed and I felt trapped. "May!" I watched as blood dripped from her mouth and she started to decompose. "You never saved me. You left me to die." Her voice came out dark and gurgled. I let out a strangled sob. "Who's next Peter? Ned? Mj? Who's going to be your next victim?" She disappeared.
I sat up, pain shooting through my body. I groaned and my head spun. "Pete!" My vision tilted and I felt the urge to throw up. I noticed a bucket next to the bed and grabbed it, throwing up in it. Someone rubbed my back and I sobbed, my heart broken from the dream and the realization that May is still gone. I dropped the bucket and curled in on myself, keeping my head in my hands. I tried to calm myself down, but that only brought on another round of hysteria. "Pete, breathe in for 5, out for 7." I listened and it only took 5 minutes before I calmed down. My vision cleared and Nat smiled softly from the left side of my medical bed. My lip quivered. "Oh baby." She climbed into bed with me and I cried into her chest, feeling like I had just lost her all over again.
