3rd Person's P.O.V
Tsunami walked down the stairs, rubbing her eyes. She was ready to leave for school as quietly as possible, but her friends saw her.
"T-Tsunami! What happened?" Takeshi nearly asked in a whisper when he saw Tsunami's state.
"Are you extremely alright?" Ryohei looked at Tsunami worriedly.
"What were you thinking, getting yourself into this-this pathetic condition?!" Hayato scolded her.
Tsunami smiled sheepishly, not knowing how she should reply.
Reborn unexpectedly popped out of nowhere. He examined Tsunami's face, humming, "Panda eyes, huh." He pulled out a panda costume. "Wear this and you'll look complete."
Tsunami jumped at the sudden appearance of Reborn. "Where did you even get that costume?"
Reborn only smirked, eyeing Tsunami. Tsunami slowly backed up, waving her hands in front of her.
"Ahahaha, I think I'll pass with the costume..." Tsunami glanced at the door, gauging the amount of time she would need to escape. "Now, if you'll excuse me," she said, moving towards the door as stealthily as she could. "I'll be going to school now!" She slipped on her shoes and bolted out the door.
"M-matte, Bossu!" Chrome picked up Tsunami's forgotten bag along with her own, and ran after her friend.
----------
"Honestly," Tsunami slumped in her seat. She reached for her bag to take something out, but then realized that she didn't bring the bag with her.
Tsunami sighed and rested her head on the table, certain that one of her friends would bring it to her. "I'm such a mess. Can't even remember to bring my own bag to school. How sad."
"How sad, indeed," came an oh-so-familiar voice. "Looks like your 'bodyguards' aren't here with you today."
"Go away," Tsunami grumbled.
"Why should I?"
"I just want a peaceful life, what's so hard about that?" Tsunami complained.
"Well too bad for you, there's no one you can hide behind now, so I'll be taking advantage of this."
Tsunami sat up, her head leaning on her hand. She stared at Natalia blankly with a little boredom seen in her face, which pissed Natalia off.
"If this is really about that oh-I'm-so-jealous-because-she-is-more-popular-than-me thingy back in middle school, then let me say, you sure are childish."
"Why, you..!" A hand was about to contact Tsunami's face when a hand grabbed Natalia's wrist.
A soft but stern voice was heard. "Excuse me, but I would appreciate it if you keep your hands off my friend."
"Chrome!" Tsunami blinked in surprise. The said girl smiled at Tsunami and let go of Natalia's wrist. Chrome handed one of the bags to Tsunami. "Here you go, T-Tsunami..."
Tsunami took her bag gratefully. "Thank you, Chrome." Chrome blushed and nodded, aware that Tsunami also thanked her for calling by her name and as a friend, not a boss.
"What's this? Not only did you bribe and seduce those guys, but you also force girls bring your stuff?"
Natalia spoke loud enough to catch some of the class's attention.
"Bribe? Seduce? Why would I do that to my friends?!" Tsunami looked at Natalia with more confusion than anger.
Chrome, on the other hand, looked far more upset than Tsunami did. She boldly stated, "You're mistaken if you think that we are forced to stay Tsunami." Chrome was getting a little nervous from all the staring she received, but she was still determined to voice her thoughts. "We don't stay by Tsunami's side because she has something to offer. We stay with her, because she is a kind, caring, and thoughtful friend. Always putting others before herself, she takes all responsibility. We try to help her the same way she helped us. Our bond doesn't go as cheap as bribing people to become friends. No, could you even call them friends at that point? True friends are earned, not bought." Then in a quiet but still audible voice, Chrome said, "I hope you can learn about how true friendship is like, and why we protect Tsunami."
The classroom was silent before whistling and clapping was heard. Chrome's face burned as she suddenly found the floor very interesting.
"That was well said, Chrome," Takeshi walked through the classroom door and ruffled Chrome's hair before stepping back.
"Thanks for standing up for Tsunami," Hayato walked in after Takeshi, bowing slightly.
Mukuro casually walked in the classroom like he belonged there and hugged Chrome, surprising her. "Well done, my dear Chrome," Mukuro complimented her. Chrome didn't say anything and returned the hug.
While all the attention was on Chrome, Reborn snuck in and pulled Tsunami aside. He whispered in her ear, "The Varia is leaving today."
Frozen with shock, Tsunami choked out, "What-?"
