Chapter 1

*3rd Persons POV*

Grunts, growls and howls echoed throughout the dark and damp forest as two separate wolf packs closed in on each other, no one was willing to back down. One was defending their home, the others were attacking to take.

An old enemy's son stepped confidently through the brush, he was grey in colour, and young. He believed that Black Wood forest belonged to him as his father once owned these lands before he was kicked out by the two alphas now facing him. He was strong and ripped with muscles and had the brains to boot. He was a real threat to the current alphas of Black Wood.

The defending packs growls loudened at the sight of the young grey alpha, they wouldn't give up the forest to anyone. After all, they did have mates and cubs to protect, which is what the grey attacking alpha was after.

"Get out of our territory" the (H/C) furred defending wolf growled trying to frighten the grey alpha away, but it was unsuccessful.

"I will once I've said my piece" the single attacking leader responded with a smug smirk, he was clearly up to something.

The fully black wolf that stood beside his (H/C) furred friend, they were co-alphas of the pack and unbeatable together, deepened his growl to back up the (H/C) alpha. He also had a mate to protect and one single black cub. They were all hidden back in their den, where they would be safe along with his fellow alphas mate and cubs.

"What do you want?" The (H/C) wolf threatened.

"I've heard you've had some new pups. One of them being a female. I want you to promise her to me as my future mate when she comes of age. I'm not going to take your pack by force" the smirk widened at his plan.

He knew he wouldn't be able to take the territory by force from the two alphas no matter how strong he was, he was going to have to take it by taking the alphas only born daughter. If he wasn't promised the female, he would then cause havoc.

"She is already promised to someone else" the fully black wolf stood in front of his friend making his point clear.

"Your son is the one she is promised to, I assume. Trying to keep everything within the pack, are we?" the grey attacker growled in distaste, but it was no matter he could still squeeze his way in as long as-

"Of course, and don't think that you can still sneak in, they are already scented with each other, even if one dies the other still won't be able to mate with another" the (H/C) wolf explained.

Anger raged through the grey alphas veins as the hair started to disappear from the attacking youngster as he stood up and became more human so that he could pull out his special weapon. "Well then we have a problem don't we".

The flash of cold steel as a gun was produced, the black wolf jumped in front of his friend saving him from the deadly bullet. The bullet instead entering him and killing him dead, the (H/C) wolf kept into action knocking the gun away and attacking in anger at the death of his best friend. They were going to fight like wolves
