"But why do we have to go to the library, we can't talk, do any magic, eat or have any fun. I just don't understand we never go to the library." James said for the third time, quite adamant on not wasting his time in the library on one of the last warm days they were sure to see for a long while.
It took a lot of convincing from Sirius to get James to come this far and he was still pretty sure it would turn out to be a prank on him but went along regardless, but with a lot of complaining.
"Yes, well we might not go to the library but girls do" peter said with a wink trying to imply that he has ever even spoken to a girl.
"Girls? Really Pete, the only girls I see going to the library are ones that are 50% pimples and 50% greasy hair, I don't think this is a place we can 'pick up'." Replied James, feeling as this would be a waste of time.
"Evans spends lot of time at the library" peter piped up hoping to instil some confidence in his, 'hot girls do go to the library' idea.
A light bulb wen off in James head and immediately the cogs started moving. 'if Evans goes to the library and I go to the library she'll see me there and I'll get to see her.'
Suddenly James stopped dragging his feet and was walking with confidence, his hand went straight to his hair, a habit he had picked up after Sirius told him Lily liked it. His heart had started to beat faster and his thoughts raced with excitement of seeing Lily in a new environment. To see her beautiful flaming hair in a new light and to see her head stuffed in a book was one of his favourite things, the ways she flipped all her hair to one side, the small wrinkle she got in the middle of her forehead as her eyebrows furrowed. She looked stunning when she was reading, well at least James though so.
Peter and Sirius had stopped walking and had stopped to watch their best mate go and stalk the girl of his dreams, they wanted to go along but it would just ruin things, at least that's what Remus had said, "c'mon Wormtail, lets go smoke these muggle cool sticks by the tree"
"Our secret meeting tree?"
"The one and only"

"C'mon Lily were going to be late" called out Remus hoping to hurry Lily along, as he was already going to be late and James would probably get bored and leave.
"late for what, I thought we were just going to study" said lily, hunched over from her overflowing backpack that she insisted that she carry, despite Remus's offers.
Shit, "you know, if we don't hurry all the good seats will be gone" Remus replied in a quick attempt to cover his slip of words.
"good seats?" lily asked sarcastically, "it's the library Rem, all the seats are always free, anyways what's the rush I feel like we haven't caught up in ages?" lily asked, genuinely happy to spend some time with her friend.
Lily and Remus had always been good friends, spending lots of time together studying and doing rounds together when they were prefects, but entering their final year, they see each other less and less.
"I know" sighed Remus to himself truly missing the time him and Lily spent together, "but I'm sure you have lots of boys fighting for your attention at the moment, no wonder you need to got the library to catch up" Remus snarked sarcastically, hoping to get a rise out f his fellow hot-headed Gryffindor.
Lily let out a loud and very unattractive snort, "no way Remus, the only person interested in me in Professor Babbling, and that only because I owe her 9 feet of ancient runes homework."
"well... you could always do worse that professor Babbling, I mean not everyone can pull off never washing their hair, but on her it just works." Replied Remus dryly which only sent Lily into a fresh lot of giggles.
As they approached the library Lily reached for the door when Remus interrupted, "oh shit Lily, I completely forgot, I've left my bag with Sirius, I won't be long," she began to interrupt but Remus stopped her, "go in without me"
Lily shrugged, knowing Remus wasn't often forgetful, so she let it slide.
Entering the library, she felt an instant wave of relief wash over her, no matter how bad she felt, being in the library always made her feel safe and happy. The smell of the ancient books drifted up and all over her, hypnotising her with their tempted knowledge and mysteries. Row after row of neatly lines up books were presented in front of her. Dust floated lazily through the air and coated the shelves, despite Madam Prince only seeing a handful of students a day she was always somehow to busy to dust and gets very offended when Lily offers to do it for her. the light from the large windows was always a golden haze no matter the time of day and it made Lily overwhelmed with nostalgia as she walked further in. her favourite place to sit was at a desk in between two large window towards the back of the library. This meant was she was never interrupted, and she had the best lighting in the entire building. As she made her way to her spot she walked lightly over the old wooden floors, stepping carefully as she would get scolded by Madam Prince if she made too much noise. Turning the corner, she was relieved that she could finally take of the backpack that made her look like she lived in the Notre dame, but sitting in her favourite chair, on her favourite table in the whole place was her least favourite person.
"Potter?"
