"why hello flower, what brings you to the Librarrry" said potter in his most charming voice that Sirius said made him sound like a tit. Leaning over in his chair he tried to look casual but relaxed.

"ummm well I came here to do some studying as it is a library, but I can just go to my room." She said about to turn on her heel.

"NOOO" screamed James earning a warning look from Madam Prince from between the bookshelves, he cleared his throat, turning back to face Lily and meet her horrified face. "what I meant was, stay, I swear I won't distract you in the slightest, just please stay." He whispered and smiled so sweetly that butter wouldn't melt in his mouth.

Lily looked at him for a moment before deciding to stay, telling herself that it was because she didn't want to carry her heavy bag all the way to the common rooms.

She sat down on the opposite side of the table from and started to unpack her bag and get started on her Ancient Runes assignment as it was due 2 days ago.

James had been waiting for Lily for almost 15 minutes by the time she actually appeared, and god was he happy. Staring at these old dusty books wasn't something he wanted to do just for fun, but for Lily, he would sit through this evil, hay fever inducing room any day. James had his Defence against the Dark Arts homework spread in front of him as he tried to recall what purpose the unforgivable curse had in everyday wizarding life. but for the life of him couldn't focus as Lily kept touching her hair and flipping it around every now and again and every time, she did he was hit with a wave of her coconut smelling shampoo which rendered him incapable of completing any work. He knew he shouldn't stare at her, as she had mentioned many times previous how much she hated when he stared so he looked down at his parchment and tried to write anything he could think of. It so happened tat the only thing he could think of was her, so he wrote her name, again and again.

When Lily looked over at James and saw he wasn't staring at her but rather aggressively doing his homework and was almost disappointed that he wasn't staring. She watched him out of the corner of her eyes, his brow was furrowed lightly, and his hair black hair caught the sun as it shone through the window, causing it to look as if he had a halo enveloping him. His long fingers were wrapped tightly around his quill and were working away as he completed his homework. She couldn't see his eyes as his glasses hid them with their scratched frame and dirty lenses.

She let out a small sigh, knowing that she wasn't going to get any work done with James sitting in front of her like the perfect distraction.

"staring are we Evans?" James whispered lightly, a smug look upon his face.

"No, I was looking out the window but your bulbous head go in the way" she replied, in a soft whisper.

"too right Evans, well I would hate to distract you further" and with that James got up and moved so he was sitting right next to Lily, so close that their knees touched.

Lily said nothing, trying to keep the upper hand, as she knew if she opened her mouth, she would fail to make words. And why should she try and stop it, she wanted James to sit next to her. if he kept putting his dam hand in his hair though she may consider hexing him. As he lifted his arm to do it again a waft of his cologne hit lily square in the face. she breathed in the scent, which was all to familiar but oddly unique, exotic smell of cinnamon, wood oil and charcoal. She didn't know why or who was doing this, but she wanted to smell more. Instinctively she closed her eyes and leaned closer to him.

Merlin's Beard, I can't believe I'm sitting next to her! she looks so beautiful even though I can only see half her face. James was almost frozen in shock, how had he got so close without her pushing him away, or at least cursing him away. He didn't care he was so giddy with the massive progress he had made. As he stared at the top of her head, he saw that she was moving closer to him, leaning back towards him. Panicking he looked around, desperate of some help or advice on what to do, he looked towards the window and he could make out the three squashed faces of his best mates. Peter was giving him the thumbs up; Sirius was making rude gestures with his hands and Remus was elbowing Sirius quite roughly. Not knowing what to do in this situation James sat frozen.

Lily's head connected with his chest and she let out a small 'mmmm' hat James swore he hadn't heard. He didn't know what to do but he didn't want to ruin the moment, he turned to his mate at the window and they were all standing there with their mouths open in shock, Lily Evans had her head pressed up against the man she hated the most.

"flower, are you okay?" James asked, concerned with what was happening. He reached to put his hand in her hair, but she had pulled away so violently at his words that he missed.

She started packing up her things, violently throwing them into her he backpack, clearly not caring about order.

"lily? What did I do wrong, why are you leaving?" James asked, concerned and missing the moment they just shared.

"I have stuff to do, I need to go" she turned on her hell and started to leave, James got up to follow but Lily must have heard him, "don't follow me, Potter"

Potter, great, he was back to potter.
