**trigger warning: cutting scene [start and end will be indicated with **]
It's been two weeks since the incident. We're still together but it's weird. She's kind of distant and we don't really hang out as much as before. I don't know what to do. I have a girlfriend but she never wants to be around me. She told me to give her time and I'm doing that but did she want space too? If so, why didn't she just say that? Why make me feel like hell? She doesn't even eat with us anymore. After dinner, I'll go up to her and ask if she wants to hang out, go to a movie or whatever and every time it's the same damn response "Maybe next time." I wish that if she didn't want to be with me she would just tell me.
"Charli."
"Huh, what?" I lifted my head expecting to see Alissa but to my surprise it was Briana.
"We need to talk."
"Good morning to you too."
"Charli, I'm being serious."
"I know. And I know what you're about to do."
"Who said I'm about to do something?"
"You're about to break up with me." She didn't say anything. "You're not saying no."
"It's just that I thought that I could ride it out with what you said but things have changed."
"Yeah, you did." I walked away from her. I didn't want to hear the words come out of her mouth. She dumped me. I wasn't going to give her the satisfaction of watching me fall apart either. Things were about to get really awkward but I guess this was necessary. I'm not going to cut off my friends because I've grown to really care about them. I don't give a fuck if Briana and them are friends. Two hours later I got back to my room to find my ex-girlfriend and my roommate making out.
"What the fuck? Not only do you dump me but you make out with the person you said should die in a hole!? You two really fucking deserve each other." I exited my room and slammed the door.
.......
"Charli, you don't have to come to game night if you're not up to it."
"It's karaoke tonight...I wouldn't miss it for the world. I don't give a fuck if she's there or not."
"Okay...do you know what song you're going to sing?"
"Yup."
"You gonna tell me?"
"Nope...it's a surprise."
......
"Okay it's Charli's turn," Chris said laughing at me. The only one who knew that Briana and I broke up was Alissa and by extension Noah. Welp, they will soon figure it out. I stood up and pulled the song up.
"So I'm gonna sing Fade by James Arthur. Hope y'all like it."
'One day, one day,
One day, it all will fade
One day, one day,
One day, it all will fade
Empty moments, sleepless nights
Think about you every night
Wondering what went wrong
What we had once seemed so right
But just as quick you're out of sight
You talk to me with words like moving on
Did it seem so simple to you?
