"No," I said, sharply.

That's all I remember saying, and then I tried to leave. It was no good though, I was sat down on a cold and old wooden chair, placed against the social worker's desk. The social worker was in her mid-thirties but looked a lot older, with blonde, thin hair and blue eyes, with a story behind them.

I didn't want to go and talk to a counselor. I didn't want to talk to anybody. I just wanted the truth. Was I really related to Jay McGuiness? Was he really my brother? Thoughts had flooded through my head for weeks and I had struggled to think of a good enough explanation to how I didn't already know anything about it. I mean we both had the same surname and grew up in the same area. Plus my mum had always had another child with another man who I had never met.

As I floated back from my daydream the care worker spoke,

"Mr. McGuiness has been trying to contact you for several weeks now. However, Jenny it is your choice on whether you want to go through with the process of meeting him. He is very interested in getting to know you. Eventually you could become a family!"

I turned to look at her and spoke softly.

"Great, but it won't be a family, will it? I won't have my mum, or my dad, or Ella - Louise."

"I know but at least you have Jay, who is certainly related to you! It you want anymore proof we can go through with DNA tests but they all just say the same, Jenny."

It didn't take long before I was collecting my belongings from my room and getting ready to go.

"I'll be back soon," I said in my head as I started to walk out of the house.

In the end me and Jay met up and now our lives had changed dramatically. I'd moved into Jay's posh London mansion, whilst he was making music all around the world.

"Come one Jenny!" Jay shouted to me from downstairs. I was up in my room, in the mansion that Jay shared with his band mates. Jay was in the boy band 'The Wanted'. My friends in school were obsessed when I used to see them. That was before I left, before my family died.

The first day I moved in with Jay I remember seeing a shy and quiet boy, sat in the music room at the piano. His voice was so soulful, I don't think I'd heard anything like it before. He had brown hair which fell across one side of his face and green, piercing eyes. I was quite shy when I first met him and he was probably the cutest boy I'd ever seen. I just needed to know if he was single.

"Hi, I'm Nathan. Nathan-"

"Nathan James Sykes, I know the one. I'm Jenny McGuiness." We shook hands and he smiled at me. His smile was sweet and as soon as our meeting was over he went straight back to playing piano and singing.

"This is Max, Siva and that over there is Tom." Jay then said, pointing to each member of the band.

"Hi!" They said in unison. I awkwardly waved at them and then went upstairs to get ready to go out into London with Jay.

We sat in Costa in Central London talking to each other about our past.

"It's great to finally get to know you, Jenny!"

"You too, Jay. When, you know, our family died, I thought I was the only one left. It's great to get to know you. I can't believe I'm actually related to you. I mean, I'm related to you. You're in a band!"

"Crazy, right?"

"Yes!" I said and we both laughed.

The whole time we were sat talking, I thought about Nathan and I was confused to why I did. His smile. His voice. His eyes. Everything about him. I couldn't stop thinking of him. Jay had told me that Nathan was sixteen when they started out and now he was nineteen. I was eighteen so it was great to have someone around my age in the house.

Once we got home I ran up to my room and shut the door. A few minutes later there was a knock at the door.

"Come in!" I said and a head popped around the door.

"Hi, it's Nathan."

"Hi," I said, "sit down." He walked over to the end of my bed where I was sat and he looked deep into my eyes. I couldn't help blush every time he did and he noticed.

"You're cute when you blush, you know."

"Thanks." I said and smiled.

"Anyway I just wanted you to have my number since Jay said you may need all of them." Great, I thought. "And, if you want I'll follow you on twitter too."

"Aw, thank you." He logged on his iPhone and followed me. I did the same on my iPhone. Something in his bio caught my eye though. I laughed at most of it until I read the last line.

'19. In The Wanted. Socially awkward. Life is good. I sat here for an hour trying to think of what to say and all i came up with was this. #nicely. Love to Ellie.'

Ellie? Who was Ellie?

Oh no.

A few minutes later he got up and left and I stayed sat there. But I knew already. I had feelings for my brother's best friend. How was this possible, I'd only known him five minutes?

I knew no one could ever find out about any of this, Jay had only known me a matter of months. I had to keep quiet and so I tried shrugging it off and went on to explore the house.
