Alyssa's POV

"Alyssa!"

Oh god not again. I can't handle hormonal Dennise. Don't get me wrong ha, I love my wife, but I've been hiding for the past hour. Dennise is six months pregnant with our second child. I seriously should have gotten that vasectomy…

When we were pregnant the first time, I swear hindi naman ganito si Den nun eh. I blame the demon growing inside of her.

Aiden – our first child – is perfect. He's my angel and I totally spoil the shi- I mean stuff…out of the kid. I love him so much. But that she-devil growing inside of Dennise right now, no way. I can already tell this girl is going to give me problems.

"Alyssa, nasaan ka, baby?" Kung tahimik lang siguro ako, hindi ako mahahanap ni Den.

"Babba in bes’men, Mommy!"

Binabawi ko na lahat ng sinabi ko tungkol kay Aiden. My family is out to get me.

Naririnig ko na ang mga yabag ng paa ni Dennise sa hagdan pababa ng basement namin. Pinikit ko na lang ang mga mata ko at kunwaring natutulog.

"Aly, baby," her perfect voice echoed through the basement. Mm, I love the sound of her voice. I can't talk though, that way di niya malalaman na gising talaga ako.

"Alam kong naririnig mo ako, Alyssa."

Patay na.

"H-hey, babe. What's up? Ano meron?" I asked with a guilty smile on my face.

"'Wag mo akong ma- 'what's up' jan, Alyssa Valdez." Uh oh, last name. "Kanina pa kita hinahanap for the past 10 minutes. Have you been avoiding me?"

"No! Of course not, Honey! I-I was just…" Think Alyssa, think! "Laundry! Yeah, I was doing the laundry."

Dennise raised her eyebrow and alam kong hindi niya pinapaniwalaan ang palusot ko. I took her face between my hands and pulled her face to mine, hoping to distract her with a kiss. She allowed the kiss, but only just a peck before she pulled back. She picked up an envelope from the coffee table that she must have brought down with her.

"Ano ‘yan, babe?"

Nagkibit-balikat lamang ang asawa ko at marahang iniabot sa akin ang envelope. I immediately recognized Bea's neat script at naka address sa aming dalawa. "I figured it was important, so gusto ko sanang buksan with you, Aly."

See! This is what I'm talking about! Una, galit siya sakin – aaminin ‘kong fault ko ‘yun – and now her voice is sad! Like tears welling up in her eyes, could cry any minute, sad. I have to stop being so…ugh I don't know. I still blame that thing in her.

"Okay, babe, it's alright. Halika dito." I held opened my arms so Den could snuggle into my body, which she did.

"Buksan  na natin, alright?" Dennise nodded a bit and sinimulan ko nang buksan ang sealed envelope.

To the Lazaro-Valdez family,

You are invited to the home of Jhoana Louisse and Isabel Beatriz Maraguinot-De Leon for an Ateneo Lady Eagles reunion on the date of December 24th 2019. Presents are not required, however it is the night before Christmas, so feel free to bring anything you'd like (leave it to Maraguinot to tell us to bring gifts without actually telling us to in a fu-freaking letter). As you know this will be the first full reunion of the full Ateneo Lady Eagles since the Fab 5's graduation, so it is essential that you make it (now she's forcing us to go…).

Accommodations will be made for our younger generation. Please do not hesitate in bringing your sons and/or daughters.

Please RSVP in one week's time.
