She lets out a sigh as she stares down at the book, ignoring the boy who kept pestering her in pestering her in face time. She was taking notes, preparing herself for the college life that she constantly dreamed of. And here was Steven trying to get her to ruin that.

She knew she said she wanted him out of her life if he wasnt going to come clean. She thought for hours about what that would be like, how that would feel. And after reading over his crazed and unorganized text that he'd sent over the course of the past few days she decided to forgive him for now.

And he he was bringing up this shit again.....

"Come on! You could be the getaway driver! It'll be fun! You can even have my share of the cash!" He pleads on the other side of the screen as he sits on the roof of the Dondai, pizza boxes scattered around him. "Trust me it'll be fun as hell, and once you get that rush it'll be amazing!"

Connie rolls her eyes, looking up at the book she's studying from. "Trust me I've done enough crimes with you. Theres no way I'm helping you rob a bank."

Steven chuckles as he rolls his eyes. "Name one crime you've done."

She adjusts her glasses as she holds up her hand, showing off the number of crimes as she speaks. "I've driven the car for you for nearly six months without a licence, I helped spray paint the side of the school in the middle of the night, went out past curfew to pick up your drunk ass, I've cussed despite my parents not wanting me too, and I helped you kidnap Garnet." She says, leaving out the time he got her drunk. "That's five, need I name more?"

"Ok the kidnapping Garnet thing was Garnets idea as a prank, and she set everything up so that doesn't count. And the cussing thing is all you. And it's not illegal for a minor to cuss so....." Steven says with a smirk. "Besides I found you this cool ass mask you can wear!"

She sighs. "I'm not giving up my chance to go to college and make something of myself to help your dumb ass." Besides, she really didn't want to work with Jasper. Or wear a mask, those things were always stuffy.

"What if we make a deal?" He says, trying to make the offer tempting.

"Depends on what the deal is." She counters. "If its you not going through with this at all and leaving the DM to rejoin the Crystal Gems then im down for that." She squints as she trys to read the pages of her book, Steven being very distracting.

"Actually I was going to offer money." Steven says quickly. "Because with money you get power and with power you get..... Stuff."

"I don't need money." Connie says, the fact that her parents have well paying jobs should have made that obvious.

"Sex?"

"STEVEN!" She shouts, her face bright red. "I-... WHY WOULD YOU OFFER ME THAT?"

"Idk, people have weird taste." His face ia slightly pink, but he hides that with a large grin, finding her reaction hilarious. "And you gotta lose your virginity at some point."

She rubs the bridge of her nose, annoyed that he said unironically in real life and because he knew she didn't want to be involved in the diamonds weird sex chain. Besides, she liked being a virgin. She didn't have to worry about being pregnant or aids. "If anything you're just making me want to stay home more."

"OK ok what about this, i get you a car." He says, tapping the roof of the Dondai. "I can get ya one cheap."

"My dad's already making plans on buying me a car next year, and I don't want one of your hot cars." She looks down at her notes, realizing she had been doodling this whole time. "I want to be a law abiding citizen, with law abiding items. Not a wanted criminal like you."

"White could make it so your not even on the system! She has control of all the police department's in this half of the world, she could make it so your a holy goddess." His voice in a nearly begging tone. "And she could make it so the top college accepts you."

"I want to get into college with my own skill, not some hack your family has. And I'm staying off the criminal system by not being a criminal, so that offer isn't really tempting." She begins erasing the scribbles she had put on the paper, keeping the one of the tiny Steven she had drawn on every page. She had made a little animated Steven if she flipped the pages really fast.

"..... I could have her make it so you're in the system anyways." She stares at him with wide eyes, relaxing slightly when the look on his face doesn't show he's serious.

"You fucking wouldn't." The disbelief in her voice making Steven's eyes twinkle.

"I wouldn't, but White would." He shrugs, the sly grin remaining as he winks.

"OK thats it, this conversation is over." She says, picking up her phone.

"I KNOW WHERE YOU LI-" He says jokingly as she hangs up.

After a few seconds, he calls back. She answers with a cocky grin. "How was solitude?"

"Oh it was great, I got to catch up on some shows, eat some pizza." He says casually as though the previous conversation never even happened. "You?"

"Oh it was great too. Got to study some law and get a spa day, so ya know." She says, playing along as she trys to focus on her studies. She had already forgot what she was even studying. Why was she even studying so early anyways?

They both go silent for a moment before Steven covers his mouth as he speaks.

"Connie, join me on the Dark Side. We have cookies and bank robberies." His voice lowers into what he thinks is scary, when in reality he just sounded like a deep voiced Mickey Mouse.

She holds in the laugh that threatens to leave her lips. "Well us Grey Jedi's don't like cookies. Or banks."

"That's why you should rob one! As pay back for not liking banks!" He says as Connie can hear her mom walk into the house, back from the store.

She lets out a laugh as her mom calls her to help put away the groceries. "I've got to go, my finally answer is still no."

She can see Steven's disappointment as he laughs, the last look she sees before hanging up the phone.
