Loving Will

Chapter 6

We swam for a few hours sticking close to each other. Will was great company and he was easy to talk to. I gently slashed him with water, which he retaliated. I asked swimming closer to him leaving a few inches between us "why did you become a teacher?"

He was lost in thought for a few moments "my grandma was a teacher and for a lot of the time, she raised me. She taught me a lot before I was able to go to school. Both my parents worked business hours and that meant I didn't get to see them a lot of the time."

"What do both your parents do for work," I asked as I swam around d him.

His eyes followed me everywhere I went "mum's a surgeon so she has weird hours but she tried to stick within routine and my father is a CEO for a drilling company that is global."

I stopped in front of him "wow, that must have kept them very busy. Did they want you to take after them?"

He shook his head "for a long time my father did, in my teens, I made it obvious I would never turn out like them. That's around the time that we stopped talking to each other. Let's go to shore and grab a bite. I hope you aren't fussy I packed us some lunch."

I followed him out of the water grabbing my towel to wrap around my body to keep me warm. I sat on the blanket in front of me. He pulled out a few sandwiches and bottles of water. I watched as he rolled over onto his side slowly chewing on one of his sandwiches. Slowly I took on all of his body, he looked extremely fit and very evenly tanned.

I finished my last bite grabbing all our rubbish throwing it in the closest bin. As I sat down I pulled out my inflatable pizza. He laughed at me as I blew it up. After fifteen minutes I was red in the face and out of breath. Will mumbled pulling it away from me. He stuck the valve into his mouth helping me blow it up. I smiled at his "thank you."

Ten minutes later he was done, I dragged him over to the water and told him to get on first. Once he was comfortable I got on beside him so we sat elbow to elbow my feet hanging uncomfortably in the water. Will grabbed my legs dropping them over his thighs.

I wriggled down a bit more so I was flat on my back "thank you for bringing me here today. It's great to get away."

He unknowingly brushed his hand along my thigh creating a pattern "it's okay like I said I have wanted to come here for a while. Thanks for coming with me."

I laid my head on the edge of his shoulder "what time are you wanting to head back."

He gently shrugged "never, I wish we could stay here forever."

I laughed "forever I am an awfully long time."

He laughed catching the quote "but not long enough. One day I would like to camp here just for the weekend."

I ran my fingers threw the water "I hope you plan on inviting me."

His lower lips disappeared into his mouth "I don't know, have you ever been camping?"

I nodded against his shoulder "yeah, once when I was younger. My parents took me away on the school holidays. It was just to one of the local camping spots nothing special but I had so much fun."

He laughed "holidays are in three weeks. I was thinking if it would be okay with your aunt that we could go away then. We can plan everything once she has said it's okay."

I side hugged his laying my head on his chest "awesome now how many days were you thinking. I know you said we will wait for. My aunt's approval but I am thinking at least three nights?"

He nodded his head "yeah, three to seven. I don't do much else on school holidays but if you don't want to stay that long we can change it to suit you."

My shoulder was still on his chest, I looked up to him "I don't mind which whatever you plan, I'm easy going. Before when you meant Jones about food, I eat nearly everything. I also want to add that we will go in on everything money-wise."

He placed his cheek on the top of my head "you have uni to save for any way it was my idea."

I scoffed "don't argue with me on this Will."

He didn't bother arguing with me any further, we stayed entangled for a while. This contact wasn't that of a student and teacher or friends but I wasn't going to question him. He ran his hand over my waist to make sure I was awake "I should get you home. I'm sure if we don't leave now we would stay the night."

I nodded against his chest "you move first."

He didn't move, I pushed up on his chest so I was sitting up "come on, don't want to sit in the car with you complaining you are burnt from the sun."

He rolled his eyes sliding back into the water "stay there I'll push you back in."

I smiled at him watching as he swam back to shore. I pulled the valve open letting the air out leaving our things on top whilst I helped pack everything back into bags. It was a long ride back but most of it was done in a comfortable silence. Every so often Will would hum along with whatever song was on. As he pulled into the driveway he got out to help me grab my things. As he handed me my bag I wrapped my arms around his waist hugging him "thank you, for today and for being amazing."

He wrapped his arms around me holding me close "anytime Carley."

I watched as he drove off, as I quickly made my way to the house my Aunty stood there waiting for me. I smiled at her nervously "hi."

She smiled coyly back at me "don't hi me, who is he."

I ran my hand over the back of my neck "he is my friend Will. I promise you he is only my friend. Today he took me to a lake and we spent all day there swimming."

She wrapped her arms around me "be safe, he looks older than you. I don't want him to take advantage of you."
