~WES' POV~

As she walked away I couldn't help but stare at how gracefully her hips moved from side to side. I was about to ask Sam for her phone number before I was interrupted by the girl with my drink.

"Wes!" The girl called. And I don't know if it's just me but I swear this girl just wiped drool from her chin. Then I heard the bell over the door chime, and Sam was out the door.

"Thanks," I mumbled under my breath. I grabbed my drink and hurried out the store and much to my disappointment Sam was nowhere to be seen.

I groaned, rubbing my forehead. Where was that girl? And what the hell just happened? I wondered to myself. I cocked my head to the side and scrunched my eyebrows together. I've never had a girl walk away from me without having her number first. Maybe I wasn't her type. Now this is a strange idea to me; in my experience, I was every girl's type. Every girl practically threw themselves in my arms. Wait a minute. She ordered two drinks. Damn she had a boyfriend, that explains it. But maybe-

My internal rambling was interrupted when my phone started vibrating in my pocket. I took it out of my pocket and looked at the caller ID it was Kale.

So you know how everyone seems to have that best friend who they've known since birth. Well, my best friend since birth was Kale. We've honestly known each other since we were born. Our mom's have been best friends since college so it was only obvious that we would basically grow up together.

"What up!" I answered, still looking around to see if I saw Sam anywhere.

"Bro, I'm leaving in thirty minutes. Please tell me you're on your way here and that you finished packing." Kale said.

"Packing?...where are we going?" I asked, holding the phone between my shoulder and my left ear as I fished my keys out of my pocket.

"Wes don't tell me you forgot were staying at Jill's house for the next two weeks! I told her we'd be there in an hour." Kale said obviously annoyed.

"Chill dude, I'm just messing with you." I chuckled. "And what's the rush?" I said opening the car door.

"Jill is in her hungry bitch mode." Kale said before hanging up.

I better hurry, Jill acted bitchy whenever she was hungry and she would get physical too. One time we were eating pizza and I grabbed the last slice and she bit me! That crazy girl bit my hand. Oh no hungry Jill was not nice. Both Kale and I were afraid of her when she was hungry. I drove out of the parking lot, tires screeching.

On my way home I couldn't stop thinking about Sam, I swear I was smiling the whole way home just because the thought of her. I'm sure in this small town of ours I'd see her again, well I hoped.

I was home. "Wes?!" Kale called out as soon as I entered the house. "I'm here. I'll take a shower real quick and get dressed in records time. Promise!" I yelled out the words, racing up the stairs.

I took a quick shower before changing into a plain white T-shirt and some black basketball shorts. Throwing my heavy gym bag over my shoulder, bursting at the seams with all the clothes and necessities I needed for the next two weeks, I rushed down stairs, grabbing the keys off the table near the door.

"Let's go douche!" I call out to Kale as I run out the door. I threw my gym bag into the trunk, I got in the passengers seat, turned the car on and got comfortable. I slid back, resting my head, with a smile still plastered on my face.

Kale just shook his head, threw his bag into the trunk, and slammed the lid. "You're in a good mood." He jumped into the drivers seat, drove away from his house and headed towards the pizza place.

"I suppose I am?" I said, resting my hands on the back of my head.

"Sooo...are you going to tell me?" Kale anxiously asked.

"What, can't a guy just be a little happy?"

"Well yeah, but you seem quite," he hesitated looking for the right word, "well chipper I guess."

I looked at Kale in the eye. "Chipper?"

Kale laughed. "For lack of a better word."

Our conversation was interrupted by Kale's vibrating phone in the cup holder between us.

"Is it the hungry Beast?" I asked jokingly.

Kale chuckled, grabbing his phone from the cup holder. "It's a picture from Jill." He said as he opened the message.

I leaned back in my seat and looked out the window. And once again my mind drifted back to her. I was lost in thought over Sam's mesmerizing eyes, they were just beautiful dark green eyes that I could stare at all day, she had a voice that could end a war with just one sentence and she smelled so sweet, like strawberries. I was pulled out of my thoughts by Kale pulling on my arm.

"Huh? What?” I jolted back to reality.

"I said do you want to see who you'll be spending the next two weeks with?" He said as he wiggled his eyebrows. He held up his phone and there was a picture of Jill with Sam!

My eyes widened with shock as my mouth dropped open. I quickly snatched the phone away from his hands.

"Wipe your mouth," he laughed. "You're drooling."

"Th-that's her!" I stuttered.

"What are you talking about?" Kale asked with a quizzical expression.

"I met her at Starbucks today but didn't get a chance to get her number." Wide-eyed, I stared at the picture.

"Thee Wes didn't get a chance to get her number? You're off your game, bro," Kale said jokingly. "Well maybe it's Fate." He said, pretending to wipe a tear from his eye.

I laughed, shoving him playfully. "You're an idiot, you know that, right?" We burst out in a fit of laughter.

Now that I was mere moments away from seeing her, I actually felt myself getting nervous. I was so lost in thought that I didn't even notice that we had picked up the pizza and arrived at Jill's house until Kale told me to get out of the car. He popped the trunk open and I grabbed my bag.

I approached the front door but hesitated for a moment, took a deep breath then rang the doorbell. After five seconds the door swung open, and there she was. She's so beautiful even though she was wearing sweats and her dark brown, beautiful hair was up in a loose, messy bun. She was wearing no make-up and still she looked. Flawless.

She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion but didn't say anything. It wasn't a horrible reaction, but it also wasn't the reaction I was hoping for.
