2 hours until show time...
Khrys was currently being swarmed by a group of women, all with different tasks at hand. Hair stylists, make up artists, jewelers. She never understood why any of it was needed, she'd simply show up on the carpet for a few pictures and head to her seat. Unfortunately, it all came with the job so she just sat back and let them do what they do best.
All of a sudden, a loud screech was heard from across the room. Everyone looked up towards the source of the sound, turning out to be one of the makeup artists. Ashleigh is what Khrys remembered her name being.
"I just totally ran into Eminem out in the hall, I had no idea he was here tonight. He's like, totally my idol. I wonder if I can find another way to see him again later." She rambled excitedly.
Khrys furrowed her brows a bit as she shook her head in confusion at the girl. "Excuse me, M and what?"
Ashleigh stared back at her, dumbfounded.
"Eminem, duh." She stated as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. When Khrys tilts her head to the side, Ashleigh started singing in an off-key pitch. "My name is, my name is." She accompanied her singing with a terrible dance. Then it clicked, the song, the voice she heard in the hall earlier, the name. "Eminem." Khrys said aloud.
"Yes girl, only like the hottest thing in the industry right now. How do you not know about him?" Ashleigh asked in disbelief.
"I think I remember hearing that song on the radio, but that's about it. I haven't heard any of his other work. I'm sure he's talented though."
"That loose canon?" Both women looked up at Diana as she suddenly spoke. "I don't know what you're getting all hyper over Ash, the man's plain disrespectful if you ask me."
"But he was so kind out in the ha-"
"Because he has to be, it's part of the whole image, honey. He's a misogynist, a homophobe, and someone needs to put him in his place instead of praising him all the damn time. Ugh, white man's privilege." She huffed.
"Whatever." Ashleigh sighed as she waved off Diana's complaints. "What do you think about him, Khrys? Isn't he so sexy?"
Khrys shrugged her shoulders. "Like I said, don't know him, never met him. So I don't really have room to judge. But I don't think we should let someone's looks determine how we feel about them."
"Well," Ashleigh started, "Who are you excited to see tonight?"
"Hm, I don't know. I've met a lot of the same people already. Not to sound vain or anything but I hardly get star strucked by anyone. They're all just normal people, like me." She shrugged.
"Okay but you're anything but normal, dear. You're a super hot B-list actress and artist with men all over the world ready to fall at your feet. Exhibit A, Jonathan."
Oh no, she knew they'd bring this up. Jonathan, her assistant. He was nice enough but after all, he only worked for her. Other than that, they had no real connection.
"Oh please, Ashleigh. Jonathan is just being super nice to me. It is his job to be cordial, you know."
"No no, I agree with Ash on this one K," Diana chimed in. "You should see the way that man looks at you, like you're his whole world or something and the only thing he knows about you is the way you like your coffee."
