Chapter 3
"If this is supposed to be real, give me proof."
My mom went upstairs without a word. I looked at her as she went up. My dad started to talk to me, as kindly as he could.
"Well, June, we should start with your real life. You're not really June Summers. Your Eva Night."
"Uh-huh. And you're really my Uncle, and moms really my Aunt, and my real parents died because some evil wizard came to their house, meaning to kill me, but only killing my parents and himself, in the end. Oh, wait, if read that before! All in Harry Potter." I said. Now Nicole was crying, but they looked like tears of sadness, not of laughter. So was Isis.
"Umm... well, you kinda hit the nail on the head there." Dad said.
"Uh-huh."
"Yeah."
"So, who's the evil wizard?"
"I... don't wanna sound stupid. I'm gonna wait until you actually believe us first." He said.
"Oh, and, aren't you supposed to get your letter on your eleventh birthday? Not your thirteenth?"
"No, JK Rowling didn't want everything to be the same as in real life, and plus, being eleven makes more sense, but not everyone's powers have necessarily come in yet..." He said back, as mom came down the stairs.
"This... This may convince you. But you may think it's just forgery." Mom handed over a paper.
It was very authentic. I didn't believe it one bit though. It was a birth certificate. It had my 'real' name, Eva Night, and all the necessary birth certificate necessity's. It also had a hospital name on it, Middlesex Hospital. I got out my iPod, and looked it up. In Britain. Shoot. I looked at Nicole and Isis.
"Could other hospitals, in America, be able to access these records?" I asked them. I didn't expect them to know, but who knows...
Isis answered. "No. I know that for a fact. But didn't Jasleen say in one of her completely weird and random comments that she had a family member in Britain that works in a hospital?"
"Uhh... I usually tune out on those comments nowadays. But I know where her house is, that one time I went. We can get September to drive us...You know what? Why are we even doing this? It's not like it's even possible." - I started to say, but Nicole didn't let me finish.
"But... what if it is? We need to check."
"But, June" - My dad called from the living room, but I ignored him.
I called September down. He slowly walked down the stairs, obviously reluctant. I got out my phone, and called Jasleen. It rung a few times, then someone picked up. "Hello?" They said with a heavy Indian accent.
"Hi! Can I please talk to Jasleen?" I asked her father, and after a "One sec," and "JASLEEN", some scurrying to the phone, and a hand muffling the speaker, trying to drown out the voices on the other end, me only catching, "I know you want to, but you can't", I heard the phone being put to her face.
"Hello?" I heard her exited voice come alive on the other end.
"Jasleen! Me, Isis, and Nicole are coming over, it's important, so don't object. If you need an excuse for your parents, say it's my birthday." I told her as we get into September's M3 he's so proud of.
"Umm... I'll see if I can work something out. It's your birthday? You never told me!" She exclaimed in her lively voice.
"Yup. We're coming now. Be there in ten minutes." I said.
"Okay. Bye!" She said.
"Bye."
