Chapter 9
"Yes?" I asked the boy, thinking I knew exactly who he was.
"So, I hear your Eva Night! I'm Scorpio Malfoy. Let's just cut to the chase, do you want to hang out with us?" He said. Wow, that sounds so stupid! If I was him, I would feel like an idiot.
"Ooh! So you want to follow in your father's footsteps? Be turned down by the celebrity, but this time, it's all the more embarrassing, because I'm a girl? Good luck! Oh, wait. You've already managed that! Bye!" I said to him, and ran down to the other end of the train. I had remembered that there were compartments after mine.
About halfway down the train, I knocked into someone. "AH!" I screamed as I fell, but someone caught me.
When I straitened myself, I noticed that James had caught me, around the waist. He was still holding me, but a second later, realized what h was doing, and recoiled. "Thanks, James." I said to him, and looked at who I had knocked into. It was a girl, and she was still on the floor. I started a string of apologies, and helped her up. Then I noticed who it was. "Jas?"
She looked at me for real this time, and gasped. "You look so much different! Whoa! June!" She hugged me.
I hugged he back, but then noticed that James was looking confused. "Oh! Right. I go by Eva now, remember?" I told her, and she smacked her forehead.
"Right how could I forget? It's just... you've been my friend for two years now, and I called you June... it just feels weird." She looked over my shoulder at James. "Who's the dude?" She asked.
"Oh! Right, well, that's James Potter, who was very rude to me, but now not so much.... Anyways, James, this is Jasleen, who has been my best friend in the muggle world for a long time now." I smiled.
"Whoa. James Potter? Sweet." Then I noticed something. She had a slight British accent. When I pointed this out, she said, "Oh! Yeah, I was born in England but when I moved to America, I hid the accent, I didn't want to stick out to much..."
"Oh! Well, that's cool. But I'm the only one without an accent!" I said. We had started moving towards our compartment.
"You'll pick it up soon enough." She said back.
"But I love British accents! You know that! They're so sexy." I said, forgetting that a super-hot British boy was behind us, listening to everything we say, and doesn't need any help drawing me in.
"Oh really?" James said from behind, in the strong accent he has, and I flushed a deep red.
I quickly felt my face cool. I needed to play it cool around him. "Yup. Nothing you need to worry about though!" I said to him over my shoulder. But it was true. I found British accents extremely sexy, and he is already so handsome and muscly, he didn't need that extra little bit.
Once we got in the compartment, a guy came in. "Hey! I hear Eva Night is in this compartment! I'm Dustin Flin! Oh! You guys need to get changed! We will be at Hogwarts in a little bit!" He shook my hand, and left. Well that was quick. Odd little one.
"Well, we should get changed then... Oh, shoot. My robes are in my bag..." I trailed off as James just pulled it down, no problem. Jas went to go get her bag from the other compartment. "Thanks..." I said to him, and he left to het his bags, which were in the hall, for some bizarre reason.
Unlike Hogwarts in the movie, we could wear whatever we wanted under our robes. I plucked them out from the suitcase, and pulled them on. Then the door opened, right in the middle of me taking off my cardigan and belt. It was James. He exclaimed "Whoa!" and covered his eyes.
I laughed. "I'm not taking anything off, that will show anything. Just the belt and cardigan." I laughed again.
"Still! You should lock this door or something!" He was still holding his hand over his eyes. I walked over to him and pulled on his hand. He took it off, only to look away.
I hadn't put on my robes yet. "Jeez! You'd think you've never seen a girl in a tank top before!" I looked down, and remembered that this was my smaller tank top, and a strip of my stomach was showing. I pulled the top down, blushing furiously, and put on the robes. "Happy now?" I asked him.
He took a small peek and nodded. He grabbed his robes out of his bag and put them on. I sat down, and waited for Jas to come back. She did a minute later. She had already changed into her robes, and she set her bag down.
Then the train shuddered to a stop. I fell off the seat, right on my face. I groaned and rolled onto my side, and clutched my nose. "I think I broke my nose." I told them. I felt a sticky wetness on my hand, and I pulled my hand back. Blood coated my hand. I tried to plug my nose, but when I did, I screamed. "Owww!" James held our hand out for me to take. I took it with my good hand. "You'd think for a magic train, it would come to a more gentle stop," I grumbled, and James and Jas laughed.
When we got out of the compartment, we ran into that Dustin guy. "What happened?" He asked, when he saw the blood dripping from the bottom of my hand, to my other hand below it. "Oh! You broke your nose! Do you want me to fix it?" He asked.
"Uhh... Okay?" I said. My nose couldn't get much worse.
He pointed his wand at my nose, and after me reluctantly letting go of my nose, it was a bloody mess, he said, "Episki" and my nose was fixed. Just like that. Didn't hurt or anything.
"Do you know how to get this blood off my face? I need a rag or something, but I don't have one..." I said, to no one in particular.
The Dustin dude used a cleaning charm, and he was off. My lower face was squeaky clean. And that zit that had been bugging me on my chin was completely gone, too!
We exited the train, and a humongous man greeted us. "'Ullo! M' names 'agrid! Firs' years! Firs' years!" He called.
