"You seem to be taking this well," Pete observed as you sat on a nearby log.
"Well, I always believed in God, Heaven, and Hell, so the existence of demons doesn't really faze me." You replied quietly.
"I thought I smelled something different about you. It's mainly the reason why I came." You looked up at him in confusion. "Sorry, I should explain. The best part about a sacrifice is when they believe what's happening to them and it's hard to believe in hell if you don't believe in heaven." Pete explained.
"Well, since I believed, why didn't you take me?" You asked.
"Your soul wouldn't be as fun to play with as your body appears to be." He smirked, eyes turning black. You stood from the log quickly, heat rushing to your cheeks.
"I...I'd like to go home now." You stuttered.
"(Y/N), you're free to do as you wish, but you were offered to me so part of you does belong to me and soon you'll be finding yourself searching for me. When you're ready your soul will find its way to me." Pete gave you one last grin before walking away.
*1 Week Later*
You stood in the church's bathroom, splashing water on your face. All week your dreams had been haunted by the handsome demon you met and nothing seemed to chase him away. You tried praying to God for salvation, but halfway through you would start to think of Pete.
"Get it together, (Y/N). If you do not stray, God will lead the way." You muttered to yourself.
Church ended soon after and as your parents stayed behind to speak to the other parishioners, you were drawn to the less populated side of the church.
"Thought I'd find you here, angel," Pete smirked, leaning against the white wood of the church.
"You shouldn't be here." You warned, looking around, but Pete just laughed. His brown eyes looked dark, outlined by the black liner.
"Baby, you shouldn't be here, but you are, with me." He hissed, his eyes turning completely black. You gasped and backed away.
"Why are you toying with me?! Sh-showing up in my dreams, in my prayers! Just take my soul to hell, finish this!" You barked, surprising Pete. You'd had enough of the sleepless nights and you were sick of your faith being tested.
"Oh, Angel, this is all part of the foreplay." Pete cooed, seizing your arm and pulling you flush against his chest. "By the time I'm done with you, you're gonna be a wreck, begging me to have my way with you. Then, and only then, will I take your soul to hell and continue the fun." You ripped your arm away from him and Pete took notice of the silver cross on your neck.
"Cute, but you won't have it for long." He vowed, disappearing as you fought to catch your breath.
What would you do now?
