"So you've never seen colors?" A girl, around the age of eleven asked Lisa.

The blind girl was seated on a bench close to a playground in the park. She came here often to just relax and enjoy the aspects of nature she could experience. Like sound, touch and smell. She could hear all the different birds sing, all the bees buzz, the grasshoppers chirp and even an owl hoot. The wind hitting her skin, blowing her hair in all directions and the fresh air that was present were some of the things she absolutely loved.

The Thai girl shook her head and smiled a bit, "I sadly haven't seen colors in my life. But I do have favorite colors."

The young girl furrows her eyebrows. "How can you have favorite colors when you haven't even see them? That doesn't make sense..."

Lisa smiled and played with a bracelet she had around her wrist. "Well... My best friends all have a favorite color... And since I've heard from a lot of people that color resembles your personality a bit, I love the color they like. Because I love their personalities." She explained.

The younger girl thought for a moment before sitting down next to Lisa and started to swing her legs beneath her, "Well what are they then? Can you tell me?"

Lisa perked up a bit and nodded. She loved to talk about her friends and she always got happy when people were willing to listen to her thoughts.

"Well, first there is Jisoo. She loves the color purple. Jisoo is actually really sweet. She really cares about people and always knows what to say or what to do. She is very wise. And she is special. A friend like her is really hard to find..." She smiled and continued to toy with her bracelet.

"Then you have Jennie. She... She really likes pink and black. I find it funny because apparently black and pink are nothing alike. But I think they fit. She is really sweet and loves to love? She always wants to express her love and care to people... She always shows me that she loves me. But then at the same time she is really... I'd say a mystery? You never know what she is thinking. She is really... you can't easily describe her. Like the color black?"

She paused for a moment, a bit unsure before continuing. "When I ask people about yellow or green they can always tell me that yellow is like the heat of the sun or green is like life and the nice perky grass that you can touch but with black... They can't really explain it to me. They always just say that it is like the night. But I can't really make out the difference between day and night. Only that it's less busy and colder. But that's it..."

The younger listened with full attentions. Suddenly a white dove that flew past caught her attention and a smile grazed her lips. "Look!" She pointed out before realizing what she had said and mentally face palmed herself. "I'm sorry... I forgot that you can't see..."

Lisa snickered "It's okay.Don't worry. What did you want me too look at?"

The girl smiled. "A small angel. Well, it isn't really an angel. It is actually a white dove. But my mom always tells me that it is an angel who secretly watches over you and makes sure that you're okay. That's why she gave me a necklace with a white dove on it. She told me that it will always keep me safe and look over me."

She reached into her small bag that she had placed next to her and searched in the different compartments for something.

"My mom also gave me a second one that I am allowed to give away to another person. I didn't know who I wanted to give it to actually... But now I know."

She pulled out the necklace with the small dove pendant dangling off it and placed it into Lisa's hand.

"You want to give it to me?" The Thai Girl questioned surprised and carefully started to feel around.

"Yeah I do. I don't know why but I think that you're really nice and I want you to have a dove too. So even though you can't see a white dove when there is one, but you can just reach around your neck and feel it. I hope that it can make you feel a bit safe in situations that might seem scary? Um, but yeah..."

Lisa felt her heart swell and she smiled widely. "Thank you so much... That's so sweet of you..."

The girl smiled and got up. "Do you want me to help you put it on?"

Lisa nodded and held out the necklace. "Yes please. I'd like that... What's your name by the way?"

"Ella. And yours?" She questioned and took the necklace before getting behind the older girl and moved her hair out of the way.

"I'm Lisa. Nice to meet you."

Ella smiled and started to put on the necklace. "Nice to meet you too... Now, do you have any more friends to talk about?"

Lisa hummed. "I do. One more. Her name is Rosé and her favorite color is blue... She is easily to trust. She is really kind and gentle. She always knows how to make me feel... Free and just... She is really smart. And she is religious and I think that she represents heaven on earth in a way. She makes you feel as if you are the most amazing person ever and she is always there to take care of you... She is really sincere and just... Calming. Like the sounds the ocean makes. And the ocean is blue too right? So yes. Blue. She is blue."

"I love the ocean a lot. It really is calming yeah. And beautiful. I collect pretty shells that I find there." the girl next to Lisa commented and sat back down next to her new made friend.

"Really? Do you have a lot?" She questioned and the girl hummed. "Yeah I do. I go to the beach pretty often."

"That must be nice." Lisa commented with a laugh. "But what is your favorite color Ella?"

The younger girl smiled and looked at her bracelet, "Rainbow."

Lisa furrowed her eyebrows, "Rainbow? How?"

She bit her lip and shrugged."I just love the color rainbow. People say that it isn't a color but I believe that it is..."

"Why is that your favorite color then?"

Ella smiled and stared at the playground in the distance, watching her younger brother play around. "Well, it's my favorite color for two reasons. Reason one. It shows that after a huge storm it always gets better. It shows me that no matter how tough things in life can get there is always something to look forward to. And second is... The color helps spread love so my Umma and mom can love in peace."

Lisa's lips curved up into a smile and trailed over her own bracelet that had a heart shape dangling from it. "You have an umma and a mom?"

The younger girl nodded "Yeah... And they are the most amazing parents ever. I love them a lot and it it makes me happy to know that this color represents their love." She smiled and looked up as her little brother walked up to her.

"Ella? Mom and umma want to go home." He said and took her hand in his, tugging on her to get up.

"I need to go Lisa. I'm sorry. I hope that you will have a great day. And I hope that you'll continue to be happy in the future. Bye!" She said before hopping off the bench, grabbed her bag, and allowed herself to get dragged away by her little brother.r.

"Thank you for the necklace Ella!" Lisa yelled after her and waved, not sure if the girl was looking at her.

Lisa sighed contently with a smile on her face and leaned back before closing her eyes.

Her hand reached up to fiddle with her new necklace.

"I have found another new favorite color..." She whispered to herself.
