Chapter Two

As were all huddled round the coffee table playing snap I realise life is complete. Leela is so competitive just like her daddy and Ben is laid back so nonchalant like his mummy, amazing how even though their twins they are so incredibly different.
"Right come on you two bed" I say laughing as Leela is sulking her brother won that round.
"But we want to see auntie Leigh and uncle Nial" whines Ben
"Let's see how long they will be first, I'll ring Leigh" Cassie smiles down at the children.
It's been a while since we had Leigh and Nial over, they've been busy with their lifes, work, holidays and planning for a family and me and Cass have been busy with work and the children so I'm looking forward to a catch up and relax time with some good friends as is Cass.
"Ok there going to be 20minutes, so I'll make use a hot chocolate whilst use wait" says cassie
"Yessssss" shouts Ben
"I'll help mum" says Leela
"Ok darling, Ry you want a tea?" Cassie asks
"Yeah go on then" I wink at Cass
No matter how long weve spent together, the ups and downs, the fear of losing her, the fear of losing the twins I will always look at her as the most incredible, beautiful woman she is nothing in this world will ever change that she is my whole entire world and so much more.
Before I know it the twins are tucked up in bed and me, Cassie, Leigh and Nial are lounging on the sofa catching up about life in general. Turns out Nial and Leigh are struggling to conceive so they are now going through the process of having IVF, I dont understand it to much but I hope they get the little bundle of joy they've wanted for so long, they'd be incredible parents. After several hours of playing board games and catching up we call it a night.
"See you tomorrow fella" Nial says as he gives me a pat on the back when leaving
"Tomorrow" I replie matter of factly. The women say their goodbyes that seem to always last forever I'll never understand it and me and Cass head to bed.
Me and Nial decided to meet tomorrow just the two of us couple of pints and a manly catch up, I think sometimes that's needed and maybe he needs a chat regarding the emotional stress he must be feeling about the IVF etc.
I pull Cassie in close so her head is resting on my chest in the same perfect spot shes laid on for the last 11years or so and inhale the scent of her hair like I have done every night since we shared our nights together and let the darkness consume me.

The sound of Leela crying wakes me from my sleep and I head to her bedroom to find out what's happened before she wakes Cassie up.
"What's happened babygirl?" I ask approaching Leela who's sitting on her bed legs tucked up with her head resting on her knees
"Ben said I'm annoying and he hates me" she cries.
The arguments these two have is unbelievable their always bickering about something or other.
I resolve the issue between them and leave them doing their own thing whilst I head for the shower.
This morning seems to have flown by i suppose the non stop tell tailing from the twins has occupied majority of the time this morning I swear its absolutely draining sometimes.
"Bye beautiful, I'll be back for dinner" i say placing a kiss on Cassies forehead, she smiles in response, I know she loves our family time when its dinner time it's the only time we all sit together and just talk to each other about our days before we lose the kids to their enjoyments and I have to admit I love it to.
"Behave use two, if your mum tells me use have been naughty with the back chat and arguing there will be trouble" I warn the children sternly.
People always say theres a strict parent and laid back one but I like to think me and Cassie balance that pretty well, we always said we wanted our children to be able to come and talk to us about whatever they needed to, whenever they needed to so one of us being strict and the other laid back was never an option and we parent well, well I reckon so anyway.

I meet Nial in a little bar in Rochly Town Centre called Pipity, a few pints in and were chatting away it seems his concerned about the IVF but I do my best to reassure him.
"I just feel like a failure mate, we both want a baby, I should be able to give her that, yet she isnt falling pregnant and weve got no answers why" Nial explains sounding distressed
"Listen fella, sometimes it takes people years dont mean you're less of a man. Stay positive the IVF is gonna work and use will have your baby" I reassure him
"Yeah, yeah you're right" Nial says and takes a deep breath before taking a gulp of his pint.
The afternoon is spent, drinking a few beers, munching on some salted peanuts and talking, he got a few things off his chest about the baby issue and we just generally chatted about work and stuff it's been nice. My phone rings bringing our conversation about the latest car to a halt. I see Cassies name flashing on the screen.
"Hey beautiful, wont be long" I say
"No...." cassie cries
"Breath cass why u crying I'm coming now" I say worry piercing through my body
"Oook" cassie stutters and hangs up
Nial looks at me with a quizzical look
"I don't no shes crying, I'm gonna go, were catch up again soon" I inform Nial
"Go, go, text me let me know shes ok" he replies and with that I make my way home as fast as I can.

What could possibly have happened I've been gone 2 hours at most, oh god I hope she ain't fucking pregnant. I know the kids are ok otherwise she would of said immediately. The thoughts running through my mind are absolutely insane I need to get home.
