The show was absolutely amazing. It radiated a totally different vibe from the very first show of Harry's I went to back in 2018. It seemed so much freer and happier compared to the last one. I don't know what it was that made it feel so different, but let me tell you, it was incredible.
Something totally unexpected that happened was when Stormzy came out on stage and rapped with Harry. If I'm brutally honest, before tonight I had no idea who Stormzy was, considering that kind of music just really isn't my forte. Never in a million years did I expected Harry Styles to yell "Fuck the government" during a show. I've always thought it was a family show, but maybe not anymore.
The show slowly came to an end, which I was insanely sad about. I was so pumped from all the adrenaline dancing to Harry's music gave me that I didn't feel even a little tired. Which was strange since I'm normally like a grandma and I'm usually tired around 9 o'clock every night. But sadly, all things must come to an end, and eventually, Harry walked off the stage leaving all these people alone together in one room.
Izzy and I decided to leave together—just as a safety precaution, so we were slowly making our way out of the pit. As I readjusted my purse strap on my shoulder, I heard a familiar voice calling my name.
"Miss Mason!" They call again, sounding closer to me this time. I turn slightly to my right, seeing Officer Smith leaning against the barricade, desperately trying to get my attention.
"Oh, Officer Smith," I say, walking over to him. Izzy shot me a confused look before joining me over by the barricade. "What's up?"
"Were you going to leave without your merchandise?" He asks, chuckling.
"Oh shoot, yeah. Sorry, I totally forgot!" I said shaking my head. Izzy's brows furrowed harder.
"I figured," he shrugged, "I just came by to remind you. Anyways, I will be waiting at our meeting spot when you finally get out of the crowd."
He turned to Izzy and gave her a simple nod before walking away. We turned back around to continue walking out of the emptier pit.
"So are you going to tell me what that was all about, or are you just going to let my imagination wander?" She asks, giggling.
"Oh, there was a fight when I was in line and I got pulled out of it. Then I guess they felt bad or something because they gave me this," I reached into my purse before pulling out the VIP pass I was given.
"Holy shit! Do you know what this means?" She stopped in her tracks, grabbing my shoulder.
"Yeah, that I got in here before anyone else could," I say. "Officer Smith was also watching after my friend and I's merch so I could enjoy the show without having to worry about them."
"No. No no no, that's not what this means," She shakes her head vigorously, tapping repeatedly on the VIP pass I held in my hand.
"What does it mean then?"
"Lili, this gives you access backstage. You get to meet Harry."
"What?" I laugh. "Don't be ridiculous."
"I'm not making this up!" She's quick to defend herself, "Every VIP pass I've ever heard of gives the so-called "important person" access to a meet and greet. And I don't see why this one would be any different."
"Officer Smith gave me this because he felt bad I was stuck in the middle of a fight," I roll my eyes. She sounded just like Jess. Maybe that's why her and I clicked so quickly.
"Why else would he take your sweatshirt?" She asks, trying to convert me to her ways of thinking. "And don't you dare say that he just wanted to hold onto your hoodies to be nice because we both know that's not the real reason."
