"Well, that's the last of it," I whisper to myself as I zip up my suitcase early Wednesday morning. I'd left my pink hoodie out because I was planning on wearing it to the airport. Now, I know what you're probably thinking: Aww, Lili's wearing Harry's hoodie to the airport. She must want to think of him.
Well, you're wrong. I want to wear a hoodie to the airport, but I wanted to surprise Jess with the blue one. It has nothing to do with Harry. At all. I promise.
My phone buzzes repeatedly in my back pocket, signaling I had an incoming phone call. I reach back and pull it out, answering it.
"Hello?" I answer.
"Lili!" Jess greets in an enthusiastic voice.
"Jess!" I say back, using the same tone.
"I'm already getting ready to pick you up from the airport, I just need to get my shoes on and I'll be on my way."
Jess flew home insanely early this morning, meaning she was already back at our shared apartment.
"My flight doesn't board for another hour." I laugh at her eagerness. "Why are you already ready to leave?"
"Are you kidding? I haven't seen you for almost two weeks! You think I'm just going to show up at the airport on time?"
"Uh...yeah."
"Well you were wrong," she corrects me. "I miss you so much Lils, you have no idea. I can't wait until you're home!"
"Yeah, me too," I say in a sad tone, even though I didn't mean for it to come out that way.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Jess asks.
"Nothing," I say, sighing.
"You don't want to come home, do you?" Jess states sadly.
"That's not it," I tell her, shaking my head even though it was obvious she couldn't see me. "I just feel...guilty."
"Guilty? For what?"
"Leaving Noah like this," I say honestly, "he and I aren't exactly on good terms."
I wasn't going to tell her about my little sleepover with Harry. I was making it a bigger deal than it needed to be. But if I was making it a big deal, Jess would make it the biggest deal in the entire world. And that was the last thing I wanted.
"What do you mean by 'not on good terms'?" She asks hesitantly.
"We haven't really talked the past few days," I tell her. Jess is silent on the other line for a few seconds.
"Well that's okay," she says optimistically. "You still have Harry."
"Not exactly," I say, cringing.
"What?" She asks sharply.
"I haven't talked to him either since..." I trail off, realizing I was beginning to say too much.
"Since what?"
"It's nothing," I lie. "I'll be home tonight. I'll see you at the airport."
"Lili, you're acting weird," Jess says suspiciously.
"Never," I force out a laugh, "I have to finish packing. I'll see you later, okay?"
"Okay," she gives in. "Love you."
"Bye," I say before hanging up.

I double and triple checked every inch of the hotel room to make sure I had everything I arrived here with. Not only did I not want to forget anything, but I didn't want to forget something then have Noah end up receiving it from one of the housekeeping staff.
