Kyle's POV
I wake up the next morning after my date, feeling like the happiest guy on earth. I run downstairs in my boxers and slowly come to a halt when I see the police talking to my mother.

"What's going on?" I ask.

Mum looks up at me and comes over to hug me. When she pulls away, she strokes my cheek. "Elisa's dad passed away."

"What?" I whisper.

"He had a cardiac arrest," Mum says. "The police are gonna pick Elisa up and bring her here."

"Thanks mum," I say. "When did he die?"

"Last night, at 8 they said," she says. "Elisa was the one who found him."

"Fuck," I swear. "Mum I can't deal with her, being upset. You know what I'm like. I'll probably make it worse."

"The only way you can make it worse, is if you aren't here for her," Mum whispers, clasping my shoulder. I nod and she walks away into the kitchen. "Do you know what Elisa eats?" She shouts.

I walk into the kitchen and shake my head. "We didn't really get to the eating part of our date," I say. Mum scowls at me. "Not that way, I punched the waiter in the face."

Mum gasps. "Why!?"

"He kept flirting with Elisa," I say.

"He couldn't see you that you two were on a date?" Mum asks.

"That's what I said!"

"Still," Mum mutters. "I taught you that violence is never the answer."

"I know," I say. "That was my first time hitting someone."

There's a loud knock at the door and I quickly stand up and get it.

Elisa runs into my arms and sobs into my chest. "Take good care fo her," the police officer says, before walking back to his vehicle.

"Hey glasses," I murmur, pulling her away from my chest. I wipe her tears away and she offers me a weak smile. "I'm so sorry," I whisper.

She nods and she sobs again. I pull her into a hug and her arms wrap around me tightly.

Be there for her. I can do that

3 weeks later...

"Thanks for coming," I say to Montana, as she enters my house, with Chase. "She's not doing so well and there's only so much I can do."

"Of course," she says. "You and Chase hang out while I talk to her."

I nod and Montana kisses Chase before running upstairs. "Want a beer?" I ask Chase.

He nods and I go into the kitchen and grab chase and I a beer. When I walk out I find a Chase has made himself comfortable in my living room.

"Here you go," I say to him, grabbing his hand and placing his beer in it.

"Thanks," he says. We both open our beer and take a sip. "How are you and Elisa going?"

"On hold for a while I reckon," I answer. "I need to get her out of this depression stage."

"Maybe taking her out on a date, or a romantic gesture could help it," Chase suggests. "That's how I get Montana out of a sour mood."

"Maybe," I hum. Montana walks downstairs and smirks at me. "What?" I ask frowning. "Is she alright?"

Montana goes over and sits in Chase's lap. "Have you ever wooed a woman before Kyle?" Montana asks.

"Huh?"

"You know think about her, in the bedroom," she whispers.

Chase smirks and I notice him running circles on Montana's inner thigh. "What you mean like go down on her?" I ask. Montana nods. "Yeah I do that."

"Not when she asks though," Montana says. "Just do it."

"Okay," I say slowly. "Did Elisa say something? Because I thought she wanted to take it slow."

"That just means on the sex," Montana says. "And of course your pleasure."

"What so I have to pleasure her and not get anything back?"

"You can't just expect Elisa to retaliate," Chase says. "Look it doesn't just have to mean going down on her. It could mean wooing her by a date, like I said. Or a nice bunch of flowers."

"I like the first option," Montana says.

"But I don't think Elisa has done anything," I say. "I don't want to rush her."

Montana hums. "You do what you think is best fit."

What do I think is best fit?

After Chase and Montana left I run upstairs and timidly knock on the guest bedroom door. There's no answer, so I open it and find the room empty. I walk back out and go over to the bathroom and knock.

"Yes?" I hear Elisa yell.

"Are you okay in there?" I ask.

"Um yeah why?"

"No reason," I say. "I'm just making some tacos, how many you want?"

The door opens and my eyes widen as I see Elisa, wrapped in a towel.

If only she dropped-

I clear my throat and smile at her. "Uh I'm not hungry," she answers.

She pushes past me and I follow her to her room. "Have you eaten today?" I ask her.

She looks up at me. "No."

"Then how many tacos do you want?" I ask.

"I'm not hungry Kyle," she snaps. "So- Just leave me alone!"

She slams the door in my face and I stood there surprise.

Well then.
