Chapter Ten: History Repeats Itself

Peter swung through the air holding tightly onto Gwen. It was still so surreal to him that he got to be with her again one year later after she had died. When they neared the power plant, he could see all the electricity and energy whirling around Electro. Once they landed behind the infamous clock tower, Peter turned to Gwen.

"So here's the game plan. You need to get into that building." He pointed at the building where she had defeated Electro last summer. "So you can control the amount of electricity. I'll distract him so you can go in safely. Once I see that you are ready, I'll lead him closer to the building and use my webs to harness his electricity and use it against him while you turn it up. Kapish?"

She gave him her dazzling smile. "Kapish."

"Alright then let's do this thing!"

Peter swung towards Electro while Gwen snuck around the building. Fortunately, Electro noticed him instead of Gwen.

The electricity whirling around Electro became tense. "Spider-Man!" He barked angrily. "You have some nerve coming back here after what you did to me!"

"Max this isn't anyone's fault! I can help you! Let me help you get past this!"

"Oh but this is not something that I want to control, Spider-Man! When I was Max Dillon I was ignored! Neglected! But with my powers as Electro, everyone now notices me! I shall be their god and everyone will bow before me!"

"A god named Sparkles?"

As predicted, the comment only made Electro angrier and he started to chase Peter. Peter dodged the electric rays while they started to play the song "The Itsy Bitsy Spider".

"Man how many times do I have to tell you that I hate this song!"

Peter glanced back at the building and saw that Gwen had made it in safely. She noticed him and nodded her head. It was time for the second stage of their plan.

He ran close to the building, with Electro on his tail. Peter quickly spun a web and held the threads of it. Electro fired his power at him.

"Now, Gwen!"

Gwen turned up the power and Peter watched as it became too much for Electro to handle. Then he exploded and Peter dropped.

When he opened his eyes, he saw Gwen running out of the building, All that was left of Electro was a battery charger. Peter then remembered what came after Electro. Gwen continued to come toward him.

"Peter we did it!"

"Gwen, get out of here quick!"

" What? Why? I'm not leaving without you!"

"You have to! Please!"

"What are you so afraid of?"

And that's when he heard it. A maniacal laugh followed by the sound of a jet engine. The Green Goblin had arrived.

"Gwen! Get out of here! Now"

Gwen started to run, but Harry reached down and grabbed her. "Na ah ah! Peter Parker, you took away my happy ending from me. Now I'm going to take yours!" Harry flew up into the sky on his hover board.

Peter swung after him. "Oh no you won't! Not this time buddy."
