(Y/N) POV
I woke up to the sound of rapid knocking at my door, I was not ready for this at six in the morning. I mumbled out a come in, and Mrs. Pots came in, carrying a tray with pancakes and juice. She sat it on the table next to me, and helped me sit up and take some of the pain medication.
"Why are we up so early?" I asked her rubbing my eyes."Don't you remember? Today's collination, and we have a lot to do before it starts." She replied, giving me a gentle smile. "I'll be back later, along with a team to get you ready. It will be the first fully public event since the accident, and I want you to look your best for the people. Mal said she check in with you later, see ya dear."
She then left the room. I finished by 6:30, and Mrs. Pits came back with a team of people to help. But it was really awkward for me. I couldn't take a bath because I couldn't get the wound completely submerged in water, but I couldn't stand and move as much I needed to, so I had to ask for help. It was one of the most embarrassing moments I've ever experienced. By the time I was done and helped into my vanity chair, I was exhausted from having to support my weight. The team Mrs. Pots had brought in immediately went to work on me, and all I could do was sit still while they fixed my face. It was actually quite nice not to have to do it myself. A soft, gentle knock came from my door. I recognized the knock, it was Jane.
"Come in Jane."
She walked in, holding her clipboard and a small box resting on it, with a dress bag over her shoulder. "A couple things I needed to notify you about." She gave me a soft smile and sat down on the bench next to the wall and passed her clipboard to me. "Mal and Evie were looking at the design of your dress, and realized that with your condition, a dress that heavy and with that much fabric and beading, would only worsen the injury." She paused, flipping the page on the clipboard to show me a drawing of a dress. "So Evie and Mal came up with this, it's made of light weight, and instead of the heavy tooling underneath, there's a thin cage to support the dress, and to keep it off your waist. They also changed to shoes so that it was less of a hazard if you fell, you would have a better chance of catching yourself." She flipped the page again. "These are the rest of things they changed, like how your hair is supposed to be done. So that the crown can sit around the bun, and be pinned in to make sure it doesn't fall. They have this stomach compresser, which is tighter than the other one so that it will give you stability."
"Thank you Jane, I really appreciate it." I give her hand a squeeze as she stands.
"Also, in that little box, we managed to find a healing stone to help with how weak you get when you move." She took the clipboard back and set the box in my hands. "I have to get back to Mal now, but I'll see you in an hour or two, alright (Y/N)?"
"Alright." She left the room, and I immediately opened the box. It was a large green crystal, on a gold band that look almost like a small tree branch. It was absolutely beautiful, I placed it on, and I felt sum what better, I knew it would get better the long I wore it. And then the team went right back to what they were doing before Jane walked in.Harry POV
The was loud banging coming from my door. I groaned and sat up, then the few steps to the door and yanked it open. Gill was standing outside, hand still raised to knock.
"What is it?" I was scowling, it was to early for this, I haven't even been awake for two minutes.
"U-uma wanted to know if you were up yet, and if not, for me to wake you up."
"And why is that." I didn't mean to be as harsh as it sounded, but I was by no means a morning person.
"You have to be at the palace in like, two and a half hours."
I rested my head on the door frame. "I completely forgot about that. Tell Uma I'll be up soon. Alright?" I patted his shoulder, he smiled that goofy smile of his, and walked off. I shut the door and leaned against it, letting out a breath, and then moved to the stack of clothes that (Y/N) brought to me a couple days before the accident. I cleaned up, and pulled them on. I looked in the mirror hanging against the wall, I realized how bad I looked. My hair was a mess, there was dried drool on the side of my mouth, and my eyes were blood shot from being up so late. I did the best I could to fix it. I looked a quite a bit better after that, and grabbed my hat and hook, and headed up the upper deck.
Uma had been up there, sending out orders. Ironically, she was in her gown for collination, which looked quite hilarious. I stifled my laugh as I stood next to her.
"About time you showed up."
I rolled my eyes, "yeah yeah yeah, whatever." Gil came up and stood next to us, he was dressed in his party gear to."You should head out Harry, I don't want you to be late." I nodded at him, and turned around and headed off the ship. I had to admit, I was the slightest bit nervous. I got used to eyes always being on me and (Y/N), but this would be completely different. And with her hurt as bad as she is, how long will she be able to last? I hadn't even noticed that I had made it to the castle. I walked up the large steps, and as soon as I got close to the door, it opened and was rushed inside. I was showed to a room, full of the blue and yellow furniture that the Beast family was famous for. Ben was standing by the window, he hadn't noticed that I came in.
"Hey, Ben, is everything alright?" I wasn't usually a person to ask this, but he looked like he needed it. Ben nearly jumped out of his skin, his crown falling asque on his head.
Ben let out a deep breath. "You scared me Harry, I didn't hear you come in."
"I figured that, but are you alright, you seem kinda out of it."
"I'm just worried about (Y/N), I don't know how much she can take. Mal said that her and Evie changed her dress and such, but that doesn't make me feel better."
"(Y/N) is strong, but I feel the same. I tried to talk her out of it, that she needed more time to rest, but you know your sister. As stubborn and strong willed as someone can be," I paused, looking for a sign on his face to stop. "But she's got a good head on her shoulders, she feels as though Auradon comes before her own health. If not for you and Mal, she'd probably work herself to death. And if anything happens tonight, she has all of us to protect her."
Ben turned and gave a a small smile. "I never thought I'd hear such inspirational words come from you Harry. And protecting her will be the top priority. Launy (Mulans daughter if you didn't know), said she would stay with (Y/N) the entire night to make sure nothing happened." He stride toward me and put a had on my shoulder. "Thank you for being with (Y/N), I wasn't happy with you being together at first, but I can't be a critic. I fell in love with the Mistress of Evils daughter. You treat her like she's the only girl in the world, I've seen you sacrifice so many things for her. I respect that you chose her, thank you Harry.""You don't have to thank me Ben. I wasn't originally going to get involved with royalty, but she always sat alone, she didn't look as happy as a princess should be." I gazed out the window, the beautiful scenery sprawling across the hills. "Uma and I decide that we would try and make a friend, or if nothing else, find out if something was wrong and tell Mal." Ben smiles again, squeezing my shoulder.
Mal POV
I'd gone to check in on (Y/N), see how far along they had gotten. (Y/N) was holding onto the wall when I entered. They were tightening the back of the dress, using the corset strings. They seemed satisfied with how tight it was, so they tied them together and tucked them away into the other laces. They set her back in the chair and helped her put on her shoes. I side stepped a attendant, that was being (Y/N) food. She was doing good, we sat and talked for awhile. But we we're almost ready to dance the night away.
