Mal POV

"I know what those things are, and there is no good that comes with them." Ben had come into the room, followed by (Y/N). They say next to each other, still clinging to each other like small children. I took a shaky breath, and told them the truth about those things. "Once upon a time they were part of my mother's army, the strongest she'd ever had. They had been cursed to become beasts, but somehow the curse went wrong." I looked up at them, watching for a sign to stop. "Under the curse their bound to a ruler, someone to over see them. But, they can also be bound to someone who's part of their...race? So they sensed me, you know daughter of the Mistress of all Evil, or there's something more to this tale that a book doesn't hold." I was stumped, what else could it be.

"More to a tale that this book doesn't hold..." I looked over at (Y/N), surprised to hear her voice. "Ben, do you still have the keys to the library?" He nodded, and everyone look at her quizzically. "When a book doesn't tell the full story, you have to read between the pages, look at the past, find the gap."

"Look at the family tree." Ben looked at her, relation in his eyes. She nodded and they squeezed each other's hands.
"Why do we need to look at the family tree?" Evie was just as confused as I was.

Ben had a grin on his face. "Dad always said (Y/N) had more beast in her, the records might have the clues we need. To decipher Man, from Beast. Truth from fiction." With Ben's help, (Y/N) stood, and headed down one of the halls, we followed behind her.

(Y/N) POV

Ben and I raced down the halls, well, as fast as I could go. We got to a dead end, and stood facing the wall. A face formed in the stone. And in a shrill voice, the wall spoke, "who wishes to open the door?"

"King Ben and Princess (Y/N) of Auradon. We wish to enter the library." We spoke in sync, just like when we were little.

"Place your palms against the stone." As soon as we made contact with the stone, it glowed and opened, the sliding apart and allowing us, and our friends into the winding staircase. "Proceed forward your highnesses, access is granted." We moved in the others took the stairs, while me and Ben slid down the railing. We tumbled as we hit the end of the railing, but helped each other up and crossed the room to a golden rope that hung from the ceiling. We gave it a gentle tug, and a bell sounded off, ringing inside the room. "Ophelia! Where are you?" I spun around, looking for her. I walked towards the tree in the center and laid my hand on it, feeling for its beat. Ben pulled another cord, and water poured onto the roots of the tree. The candles around the room flickered on, filling the room with a warm glow.
"Oh! Hello my dears!" The giant rose that grew around the tree greeted us, the water helping her wake up. "You've both grown so much. Look at my little Ben, and (Y/N), you look so precious!" We smiled up at her as her vines ruffled our hair, a smile forming along her petals.

"Ophelia, we need your help. Can you find us the scrolls for the family trees of the Beast and Maleficents please?" Ophelia nodded, and her vines climbed across the shelves, feeling for the family crests. She pulled out two, and layers them out on the table in the center. I stepped forward and opened the Maleficent scroll, spreading it out across half of the table. I studied the paper, looking at the connections, nothing was there. Absolutely nothing that would help. I pulled open our family's scroll, 1991. Ophelia seemed to have read my mind, and brought me the book, along with a purple leather bound one marked with the Maleficent crest. I open the purple one first.

"A child of the Maleficent family does not gain full control of their powers until the hold the power of the family name. All though their power is great and un wavering, the full name is required to control the powers of all that is evil. But sources, such as the staff or a relic such as the stone of hades, can easily aid in controlling the powers of evil." I look up at Mal, she was deep in thought. I set the book down, and open the yellow and blue one that belongs to the beast family. I flip through the pages, struggling to find the page we needed. But when I found it, it was blank. Ben looked over my shoulder, just as confused as I was.  "Carlos, open the curtains please." He opened it, just Enough to let the light in, and fell on the pages of the book. Golden writing sprawled across the pages that were blank just moments before. Ben and I read the words carefully.

"a tale as old as time, formed by a song as old as rhyme. More beast than man, cursed and broken, but bound by love. Two descendants, both of the same crest, will turn the tide. One crowned as King, the other holding powers unknown, stronger than even the Mistress of all Evil.
Teach her how to fight, she'll show you how to win. The Flora and Fauna will bend to her will, the girl who is more beast than man. A girl with gold speckled eyes, with a spirit strong than the sea. She will be the key to defeat those who are evil.

But beware, her powers are intend-"

The words ended abruptly, leaving us with more questions than answers. Thunder shook the castle again, catching me off guard. Luckily, Harry was there to catch me, holding  me against him as more thunder rolled through. I looked at Ben, able to communicate with out words. He nodded, we knew we had to do. I slid out of Harry's arms and crossed to room, and placed my hand on the tree at the center of the room. A warm glow spread across my trunk from where my hand touched. Small compartment opened, causing a bright light to shine out. The warmth of the light surrounded me, cutting off my view of the others. I recognized the colorful orbs around me to be those of pixies, they seemed to be checking me over. They were zipping around me, the soft flutter  of their wings flying around me. One of them lifted my right hand so it was in front of me. They swirled around my hands, then spread my fingers apart. A small ring appeared; it had wood on the bottom, but was mostly clear on top. It has small blue flowers inside the clear part, along with gold shooting through it. I noticed that the part of the ring with the wood, had small animal tracks running across it. They pushed it onto my right ring finger, making glow blue as soon as it was on all the way. The pixies spun around me once more before they went back into the tree, and the light disappeared. I was left standing there, shaking pixie dust out of my hair.

Ben was smiling at me, knowing we got the tool that would help us the most. Now all we have to do is teach me how to fight, and I'll show them how to win.
