Harry POV

(Y/N) went limp in my arms, which I wasn't ready for, and I may or may not have almost dropped her. I steadied myself so I wouldn't drop her again, and carried her to her bed. "I'm assuming using magic uses a lot of energy?" I looked up at Mal, I knew she was the only one in the room that would know the answer.

"Yes," she sat on the other side of (Y/N), "especially the magic she's using. What ever power that ring holds, she needs to be prepared for it. We can't have her fainting every time she uses it." Mal moved (Y/N)'s hair out of her face, her finger tips trailing across (Y/N)'s cheek. "I'll start training her tomorrow, get her stamina up so she can endure using magic longer."
"Will she even be able to handle it? (Y/N) can't even swim, I just don't see how this will work as quickly as we need it."

"Ben," Mal places her hand on Ben's shoulder, "it will all work out dear. She just needs to be taught the right way. Like earlier today, teaching (Y/N) how to sword fight. She needed to be taught a different way than you were taught. And you saw how good she got at that." Mal had wrapped her arms around Ben, resting her head on his shoulder.

"I guess your right Mal, she did learn pretty fast." Ben smiles at her, leaning back into her arms. "For now, let's head back to bed, we've had a big enough adventure for tonight." Doug checked the door one last time, then left with Ben, Lonnie had left the room for something, I couldn't remember what she said. But Mal didn't move, her hand resting in (Y/N)'s hair.

"Do you think she'll be able to handle it? (Y/N)'s strong, but that can only go so far. I know it's bad to say that, we just watched her calm a.....what ever that was so easily." I looked up at Mal, my voice and hands shaking. "I don't want her to get hurt, I couldn't even move to wield a sword to defend her."

"Harry, she will get hurt. That's how magic works, no matter how careful you are, it happens. But just be there for her, don't let her do this alone." She paused, choosing her next words carefully, "I know it's not like you to be the Knight in shining armor, and trust me, (Y/N) is no damsel in distress. Your a great team together, I've seen you two at work. It's not going to be easy, but you need to be there every step of the way." I nodded, shifting (Y/N)'s weight do my leg didn't go numb. We talked for awhile longer, but when Lonnie came back in we went our separate ways.

(Y/N) POV

The next time I woke up, I could see the sun rising through the curtains. I got up and stretched, changing out of my pajamas into a t-shirt and jeans. I brushed my hair, it was a struggle as always. I slipped on my boots, and headed down the stairs of the tower. I knew the others were still asleep, so I was trying not to be loud enough to wake them. I made my way to the library, the words the beast said from last night ringing in my head. With Ophelia's help, I was able to find all the books I needed, every little detail was right there in front of me. I set to work copying everything down in a note book so I could reference it later.

Harry POV

I was rudely awoken by a handful of ice down my shirt.
That was not how I wanted my day to start.

"What is so import-"

"(Y/N)'s gone." That has my attention.

"What do you mean she's gone?" I was immediately standing and pulling on presentable clothes.
"Ben said she's not in her room, no one can find her." I pulled on my boots while Carlos talked. "We thought that she was with you, but I can clearly see that's she's not here with you."

"Did you check the library?" He shook his head. "Then lets go." We found the others pretty quickly, they all were on edge, but I was confident that she was in the library.

"(Y/N) wasn't with you?"

"No, but I can almost guarantee that she's in the library." Ben nodded, and I followed after him, hoping I was right. We made our way down the stairs, the spiraling motion was going to make me sick. I had my sea legs, but on land that meant nothing. I spotted a familiar set of unruly red hair, and my body relaxed.
"(Y/N)!" Ben jumped down the rest of the stairs, meeting the floor gracefully, and heading closer to (Y/N). She flashed us a smile, then turned back to what she was working on. I slowed my pace, and I wrapped my arms around her waist, resting my head on her shoulder.

"I found some stuff on the wolf clan." She looked up at Ben, then started to explain things. "The wolf clan was once the the strongest clan amount the wilds, besides the Bear clan. They had been cursed just like Dad was. But they didn't heed the warnings, so they were permanently transformed. 'You protect the forest, we protect you.' They were assigned to protect certain parts of the forest, to keep it 'wild'. " She smiles at us, pointing to the rugged map she sketched out. "They use the old Robin Hood roads, allowing them to slip from place to place unseen. As long as we don't hurt the forest, they won't hurt us." (Y/N) was so triumphant and proud, but Ben was quick to point out a few flaws.

"If they're not here to hurt us, then why did it throw Lonnie against the wall?"

"Ben, you did the same thing when Audrey turned you into a beast. You were out numbered and so was it. Not everything will be as easy as it was for Mom and Dad, we have to try harder, for them," she grabbed his hand, "for Auradon. We can't go home until we can go safely, we can not bring whatever is happening back home." Ben nodded, and pulled (Y/N) from my arms and into his, ruffling her hair gently.
"For Auradon."

"For Auradon."
