Ch. 5 A run.

(Dawn pov)
I woke up and the pups aren't in bed. I sit up and stretch. I then look over and see them looking out the window. I went over and kiss their heads. "Good morning my Little Pups. Did you sleep ok?" I ask. They nod. I chuckle. "I'm not mad. I said you could get out of bed when you wake and you listened to me and stayed in the room." I said. They calm down and nod. "Now stay here while I get ready." I said and went to the bathroom. I got dressed after a quick shower and blow dried my hair. I walk out and the pups aren't in the room. So I went down stairs a bit worried and then I hear laughter. Then the pups run in and Roger is chasing them. I chuckle and they hide behind me. "Well you're finally ready." He said. "Ha ha. Don't take my pups again." I said. "Now who wants breakfast?" Roger asked. "We do!" Kota said and they ran to the kitchen. I walk beside Roger. "You made breakfast?" I ask. "Figured you needed a morning off cooking." He said. I got my plate and we eat. We talk as we eat. Then we clean up and went out side. We shift and run around. Then we stop and rest. Roger and I lay down under a tree. "Can we go play?" Kota asked, both their tails wagging. "Sure. But stay close." I said. They shift to human and run off. I talk with Roger for a while. Then we hear screams and we run to the pups. We see a rogue attacking and Kota is trying to defend Ash. He gets hit in the stomach and Roger jumps on the rogue. I pull Ash and Kota to me. Kota seems to be in a state of shock and Ash is shaking. I shift back. "Hey it's ok. It's me Dawn." I said softly. Ash jumps up and hugs my neck. I hug back and stroke her hair. "Are you ok?" I ask. "Yes." She said. I set her down and went to Kota. I look at his wound and see it's bleeding a lot. "He needs to go to the doctor." I said standing up as I pick Kota up. Ash nods and Roger came over. "Are they ok?" He asked. "Ash is fine. I need to take Kota to the doctor." I said. He nods. "Want me to take Ash home?" He asked. "Thank you Roger. Ash go with Roger. I promise Kota will be fine." I said softly. She nods and Roger picked her up. I went to the doctor and they went home. I got in and filled out the forms. Then not long after we were called back. I set Kota where he sits and the doctor looks at his wound. He cleans it and the raps bandages around Kota's torso. "Is he ok Doc?" I ask running my hand through Kota's hair. "Yes. He is just in a state of shock and it's minor. Just talk to him soothingly or give him a nice warm bath. That will bring him gently out of the shock. Otherwise he could get hurt mentally." The doctor said. "Which is more efficient?" I ask. "The talking-to but as you do it do some thing soothing to him. Like stroking his hair or rubbing his back." The doctor said. I nod and pick Kota up. "Thank you Doctor." I said. He nods and I left holding Kota so that he's straddling me. I start to stroke his hair as I get home. I went to my room and close the door. "Hey I need you to keep Ash for a few minutes while I get Kota out of the state of shock." I mind like with Roger. "K." He mind links back. I then start to stroke Kota's hair. "Hey it's all right. I got you. You're safe. Ash is safe." I said softly and he shook his head. He looks at me and I look at him worried. He hugs my neck and I kiss his hair. "Do you feel all right?" I ask moving my thumb back and forth in his hair. He nods. "Where's Ash?" He asked weakly. "With Roger." I said. "Dawn I do feel a little weak." He said. "Ok ok. I got you. Let's get you some thing to eat and then we'll go to bed." I said. He nods and I went down stairs. I hold him while I made cheese sticks. Then Roger comes in holding Ash who's a sleep. "Is she ok?" Kota asked. "Yes. She's just a sleep." Roger said softly. Kota nods and layed his head back on my shoulder. He closed his eyes. I put the cheese sticks in the oven and stroke his hair. We talk.

When the oven dinged, I got the cheese sticks out and put them on the stove. I serve plates and then I set Kota in a chair. Ash had woken up. Roger set her in a chair and I give them their plates. I sit down with mine beside Kota as Roger sits down beside Ash. The Alpha Peter comes in. "Hey the kids ok?" He asked sitting down across from us. "Mostly. Kota is a little weak from the attack but other than that we're fine." I said. Kota leans on me and I stroke his hair. When we finished I pick up Kota and he lays his head on my shoulder as he closed his eyes. "Roger can you get the dishes tonight?" I ask. "Of course." Roger said. "Ok thanks. Come Ash." I said softly and she followed me to my room. When we got there, I lay down and lay Kota on top of me. Ash got beside me and cuddles with me. They fell a sleep and then so did I.
