Ch. 28 A day in the castle.

(Dawn pov)
I woke up and heard giggling from the pups room. I got dressed and then went to the pups room. I open the door and see them under their adoption certificates with drawing supplies. "Hey whatcha doing?" I ask and they gasp looking at me. They hide the papers. "Nothing." They said. I chuckle. "Ok I'll let you get back to it. I have some stuff to do around the castle. Come find me if you need me." I said. "Ok Mommy." Cody said. "Hey Mommy where are Uncle Roger and Uncle James?" Ash asked. "Well I think they'll be helping me are the castle." I said. They nod. "Mommy when will you turn Ash and I?" Kota asked. "Well I realized that I have a lot to do today and tomorrow. So in a couple days I promise we'll get to it." I said. They nod. "Now out." Cody said. I chuckled and left. I start my duties for today. I went to the living room and found all the kids here for the orphanage. "Is this all of you?" I ask. They nod and I count. "36, 37, 38, 39." I said. "Perfect." I said. "Wait aren't there supposed to be 40 of us?" One asked. "Actually Cody was taken in." I said. "By?" Tim asked. "Me." I said. "Where is he?" Tim asked. "His room with Kota and Ash and I think they're up to something." I said. "Can I still hang out with him?" Tim asked. "Of course." I said and Cody ran in. He ran to Tim and whispered something in his ear. "Hey Cody." I said. "Hey." He said. "What are you and your siblings up too?" I ask. "Nothing." He said and dragged Tim out. "Hey Dawn." Roger said coming in. "Hey, all the kiddos are accounted for." I said and we walked down the hall talking business. Then Kota and Ash run in. "Uncle Roger we need you." Kota said. "Can I help?" I ask. "No." They said. I chuckle. "Ok have fun. I'll be in my office when you're done." I said. "Hey you remember what tomorrow is?" Roger asked. "Yes I remember." I said. "I'll go to the dress maker after I do some work." I added and went to my office. I do today's paper work. When I was done I went to the dress maker and she started on my dress.

When she finished, I took it off carefully and thanked her. I left and went to my room. I collapse on the bed and then Roger comes out of the pups room with James behind him. "What were you guys doing in the pups room?" I ask. "The pups wanted sole help with a project they're doing." James said. "What is it?" I ask. "We can't tell you. They made us promise and if we tell them get to  throw pies at us with the other 39 kids in the castle." Roger said. I crack up. "Ok." I said. "Well I'll grab the pups and be down for dinner." I said. They nodded and left. I went to the pups room and opened the door. They jump and hide the papers they're working on as they look at me. "Hey it's dinner time." I said softly. "Tim would you like to join us?" I ask. "Sure." Tim said. "Can we sit at the other end of the table?" Kota asked. "Sure." I said and they ran to the dining room. I walked behind them and got there. I see them talking in a whisper. I sat down in the queen's spot and dinner was served. We eat and I talk business with Roger. "Well is Dalton behaving?" I ask. "Yes. But his men aren't." Roger said. "What are they doing?" I ask. "They sent a letter demanding that you surrender Dalton back to them. But they said that they will back of if you accept Dalton as your mate and surrender Cody to him." James said. I sigh. I put my head in my hand so I'm looking down and resting my elbow on the table. "Cody." I said. "Yeah?" He asked. "You're sleeping with me for a little while." I said. "Ok. Is everything ok?" He asked. "I'll tell you later." I said. He nodded and they went back to whispering. "I wonder what their up too." I said. "You'll like it when you find out." James said. "Sh!" All the pups shush him. I chuckle. "Just tell me this. Are they up to anything bad?" I ask. Roger and James burst out laughing. "Dawn, they're angels. They wouldn't do anything that would make you mad." James said betweening laughing. I look at Draven and he nods. "Ok." I said. "Besides this is probably the nicest thing they could do." Roger added. Then a tomato hits his head and goes splat. I bust out laughing and he looks at the pups who are glaring at him. "Sorry geez you pups are secretive." He said. "Because she can't know!" Cody said. "Well that made my day." I said when I calmed down. Roger glared at me. "I may just ruin it for the pups." He muttered and four more tomato's hit him. I bust out laughing with Roger and Draven. "I was kidding pups. I wouldn't do that I promise." Roger said. "Good." Kota said. We eat dinner. When the pups were done, they came to me. "Can Tim stay with us tonight?" Kota asked. "Sure." I said and they ran out. "Hey Pups we're having a ball tomorrow. So tomorrow night I want you four to stay in your room." I said. "Ok." The said and left. I sigh. "So who all is coming?" I ask. "All the kingdom was invited and so was Mason, Marry and Dominic." Draven said. "Why Dominic?" I ask. "We want to make him see what he's missing." Roger said. "Ok. Well I have to talk to Asher and see if he is ok with this." I said. "Otherwise we'll be celebrating that we are out of the storm alive." I said. "Hey it's a reason to celebrate." Roger said. I went to Asher's room and knock. He answers and we hug. "Hey." I said softly. "Hey." He said. "So what's the news with Dominic?" He asked. I told him all about that. He's my best friend. "Well he still doesn't want to decide. So I was hoping you would be my king. My wolf and I feel you are the best choice." I said. "Really? Doesn't your wolf want Dominic's wolf?" He asked. "No. We want you." I said. "What about Dominic?" He asked. "He'll be going out with other girls why can't I find another boy?" I ask. He buried his face in the crook of my neck and wrapped his arms around my waist. "I would love to be your king." He said. "You wouldn't mind announcing it tomorrow?" I ask. "Not at all my queen." He said. "Now we would technically be mates. Is that ok?" I ask. "Of course." He said. "I can learn to love you like that. No offense." He added. "Non taken. I will have to learn to and I want to take it slow." I said. "No problem." He said. "Now this does mean your a father to three pups." I said tapping his nose. "You mean the two wolf shifters and Cody?" He asked. "Yes." I said. "I don't mind." He said. "Good." I said. "But one condition, if Dominic decides he wants you, you give him a chance." Asher said. "What about you?" I ask. "I'll be fine." He said. "Ok I'll agree to that." I said. "Now what are my limits?" He asked. "You can hold me, kiss me. Just not the lips yet and I think we can say we're dating." I said. "Ok. I like those." He said. "What are my limits?" I ask. "Same thing. Is you wolf ok with this?" He asked. I feel her howling with joy for a boyfriend. "She's howling with joy." I said. He chuckles. "So do we keep separate rooms or what?" He asked. "I think you two better keep it separate for a couple weeks and let each other get used to one and other." Draven said, sneaking up on us and we jumped. "Dad." I hissed. "Relax. I'm not going to be one of those father's. But I do have to say if you hurt her I will throw you in a cell. But I trust your judgement." Draven said. "Ok." Asher said. "Well I'll see you tomorrow." I said. I kissed Asher's cheek and went to my room. I went to the pups room. I open the door and see them talking. "Hey pups." I said. They look at me and I smile a little. I went over. "You three have a dad." I said. "Who?" They ask. "Asher come to my room please." I mind link with him. Seconds later I hear my door close. "Dawn?" I hear. "In the pups room!" I called back. He came in and smiled at me. "Pups meet your adopted father." I said. "What about Dominic?" Ash asked. "Forget him. He doesn't care about me or you three." I said. "What if he cared about you but not us?" Cody asked. "Then I'll kick him to the curb. Because I will not have a mate that does not accept my pups." I said. "Ok." They said. "Tim do you still want to stay?" I ask. "Yes please." Tim said. "We do need him." Cody said. "Ok. I'll let you four stay up until eight thirty. But then it's bedtime." I said sternly. "Ok. Daddy can you stay with us?" Kota asked. "Pwease!" They all said. Asher looks at me. "It's fine. But Cody I need you to come to my bed and sleep with me tonight." I said. "Why?" He asked. "Dalton's men have threatened you and I want you close to me. So I know you're safe." I said. "Ok." He said. "Do you want me to get some guards to stand outside your door and their doors?" Asher asked to come to my side. "Please." I said. "Done." He said. "I better give them orders." He said. He kissed my cheek and left the room. "Ok Cody when it's bed time you come to my bed with me." I said. "Ok Mommy." He said. I kiss his forehead and walk out. Asher is giving a few orders. "Hey I was going to hang out with the pups and then get them to bed when time. Then I'll leave." He told me. "Ok. How long will the guards be here?" I ask. "All night." He said. "Ok. I'm going to bed. Because we have to find your suit tomorrow." I said. "Ok. Well I better see what those pups want." He said. He went into the pups room and the pups slammed the door closed. I chuckled and got in bed. After a few minutes I fell asleep.
