Chapter 10

As soon as I wake up the next morning I text Caleb telling him about the text. Before I hit send I think if this is a good decsion. I hit backspace and turn off my phone. A few seconds later the nurse comes in and checks on me. It's the same nurse as yesterday. I ask her if she knows about Anthony's condition and if he's awake. She tells me how he still is asleep from surgery but he's stable for now. Last night his heart rate was too fast and had to be slowed down. They don't know what triggered the event. I thank her and she leaves. I think to myself, 'I hope he wakes up from surgery soon. I can't wait to talk to him.' My parents text me how they won't be able to come till late evening. I planed on staying in bed watching movies the rest of the day. I heard a knock on the door halfway through the movie I was watching.

"Hey beautiful. How are you doing?" Caleb asks me kissing me on the lips.

I smile and kiss him back. "Caleb! What a surprise?! Oh my god! Anthony's here too he's a couple rooms down from mine. He still hasn't woken up from his surgery from two nights ago. I'm worried."

"Don't worry babe. I could check on him later for you when I'm on my way out."

He lays down on my bed next to me and watches the movie with me. We try and cuddle but there's not much room haha. I try and concentrate on the movie but my mind is else where. I can't think of who would send that blocked text to me. 'Anthony please wake up and be okay.' I get back to watching the movie. I had to ask Caleb something.

"Do you think you could wheel me down to see Anthony if hes awake?"

He gets up and says yeah then heads down the hall. A few minutes later he returns.

"I have good news and bad news. Good news is that he will defiantly be waking up and make a great recovery. Bad news is that the doctors aren't sure when he'll wake up."

I freeze. "Not know when he'll wake up? They have to know!"

"I'm really sorry hun. Wish he was awake too."

How could this happen? Should be me not him. Suddenly my phone vibrates. I unlock it and read the message.

Blocked ID: Hope you have your little black dress ready for another death party.

I lock my phone then tell Caleb that he should leave now. He tries to reason with me but I decline. He leaves. I cry. Who else knows that Anthony has a great risk of dying? This is getting harder.

*Anthony's P.O.V*

When I open my eyes next thing I see is the hospital all empty and have a bright white tint to it. Where is my mom and sister? Where did Bex go? Why am I stuck here? Something didn't go right. Am I dead? Oh no. I can't be dead. I'm still wearing the clothes I been wearing since they found me. A red flannel shirt wih skinny jeans.

I call out, "Hello?? Is anyone else here?"

Strange. I walk around and look for people. When I look out the windows I only see white. I probably just dreaming. I try pinching myself and scream. I try and find my way to the operating room. Maybe I'm still in surgery. When I close my eyes and shake my head I see myself lying in the hospital bed and Bex is right there in a wheel chair. I see her inguries. I feel bad for her. I hear a voice suddenly and it's Bex.

She's praying alone. "God, Savior, Christ whoever is listening please have Anthony wake up real soon. I need to show someone the messages. Please."

"What messages? It'll be okay Bex. Don't worry. I'll wake up some how." I try saying to her.

I go over to her and reach for her shoulder. She shakes then shivers. I pull back my hand. What is going on with me? I open my eyes again and I only see my empty hospital room. I run out the door trying to find an exit but can't see any. I run down the halls everywhere. This is going to be a long time in the hospital. When I reach the lobby I close my eyes again. I see Amber with two of her friends. She's wearing sunglasses and a long red peacoat.

She says to her friends, "Okay girls you got the needle with the stuff in it?"

They say yes and pull out the needle a little bit and hand it to her. Amber walks over to the nurses desk and ask where is my room. I see her walking down the hall and walks past Bex's room and into mine which is still empty.

She looks at me. "Poor Anthony. It didn't have to end like this. We could of worked together and ended Rebecca. But you had to be her little hero and protect her. Well it's too late now."

What is she talking about? Amber takes out the needle and is about to put it into my IV but Caleb walks in.

"Excuse me sorry my girlfriend left-- Amber? What are you doing here?" He looks at her.

She puts the needle away and takes off her sunglasses. "Oh Caleb. So sad what happened to both Anthony and Rebecca. I was just paying a visit."

"Oh really just a visit?" Caleb said.

Amber glares at him. "Is there a problem with that? Whatever anyway I have to leave now. Goodbye."

Caleb shakes his head as she leaves and walks out. I knew Amber had something to do with this but I can't remember what. I open my eyes again and just try to remember what happened.
