Minecraft SMP/Youtuber AU

ok but what if the gems ran a minecraft smp series

it's gonna be a human au where they're all youtubers

Steven is the most popular, most viewed Youtuber in the server, and is everyone's friend on it. He's done atleast two collabs with almost everyone. Because of his high subscriber count, a few fans don't really like him because "he's EVERYWHERE, in every single one of my favorite Gem's videos" but like,,, the server is literally called "Steven's Universe" u nuts

He was the one to start Steven Tag, and came up with half of the server's story. Lapis taking the ocean to reach space? He thought of it. Spinel almost destroying the server? Him.

(Steven Tag is basically tag but when you get tagged you have to change into a steven skin. it can be terrifying but also fun)

I have so many ideas as to what the different characters could be up to so I'm going to go all over the place-

So Lapis's arc starts in the first half of the first season, she used a whole redstone machine to make this GIANT block of water going up to sky limit. Of course in their videos, Lapis was going to try to "go home" to Homeworld very far out in space. She didn't have an elytra yet, so Steven gave her one to use. She flies away.

From Steven's perspective she just kind of disappears forever. But maybe for Lapis, she would settle and build in a jungle or probably even in the ocean. Idk what she would build there, though.

Peridot would be interesting, she could always start and settle in a very far away location. Maybe one day she comes across one of the mesa biomes the Crystal Gems have dug out and is like "wtf who stole all of the terracotta"

and of course she tracks down the others, is briefly amazed by their builds but still calls them clods for "hoarding the server's resources" (even though it's infinite).

And obviously Steven spots her and they talk. The Gems chase her away, Steven had no idea why, and they just go back. Steven's still kind of worried about her but then JASPER HAPPENS.

Next cut they're imprisoned in the ship.

At this point I have no idea how fusion would work here??? I can totally just skip Garnet being a fusion for this episode but then what's the point of her battling Jasper?? and the entire malachite arc actually ?????? I'm conflicted I'm going to skip this part for now

or maybe malachite doesn't have to exist in this au, mayne it can just be jasper struggling to escape and lapis trying to restrain her in the ocean. obviously a lot of fans are gonna be worried about them but they make it clear that this all just for fun and for the sake of the story. they can also make it so that lapis is trying to teach the audience a thing or two about unhealthy power dynamics and coping mechanisms

I still have no idea how to incorporate ruby and sapphire into the story, seeing how they're only used like 35% of the show, but they also play a major role in garnet's character and the whole pink-is-rose arc.

Speaking of rose, she could be steven's in-game mom or just the leader of the crystal gems in general. in the first few seasons she's shown to be mysterious and kind of like a legend, especially to steven. the audience theorizes about her. also rose is not an actual player in the game. she stays in the past.

and pearl's portrayal of her order to her could be a bit interesting too. maybe when steven or anyone mentions pink diamond she goes deathly silent, or she scrambles to change the subject. if they all run a script, they could just drop onto pearl that she witnessed pink's "shattering" and just leave her to improvise completely.

Any of the background/minor character we see, like the rubies, aquamarine, the zircons (WHERE ARE THEY) and the pearls can just have their own little narratives within the main story, and show up whenever they're needed.

omg if we skip all the way to the movie spinel can just be a whole ass loner in the first,,,, 2 seasons? she's just making her base a garden, the second garden a little more duller than the first, and she doesn't really interact with anyone until season 3. As a result she's often one of the richest Gems on the server. She's also somewhat popular, but not as much as many of the Gems because of how she never did any collabs.

so when steven decides to do a big collab with her, spinel builds a giant injector as her base on the mountain where Steven's house is. It's very pretty, especially at night time. Magenta glass and grey concrete make it a sinister landscape. also her fanbase explodes

also I have no idea how this is going to do with the diamonds,,,,? I want to keep the server as vanilla as possible, so I don't think any giant player mods or customised mobs are going to happen.

And obviously before they do the pd reveal they gotta make sure that the audience has the full picture of who they thought rose really was.

on the 4rd season steven is now beginning to have a bunch of issues, the audience, as always, is HELLA worried about him but he makes a post explaining how everything is part of the story. he realizes just how real is character could become in his videos so he decides to tone it down cause I guess it can be pretty alarming for a few people. ofc he still makes it clear that Steven's having problems about how he feels about rose/pink, and season 4 ends up having a lot less story-related collabs than usual, except for the people he doesn't usually do so with, like jasper, pink pearl, eyeball and aquamarine, and lapis.

he also builds a garden and talks to a potted cactus.
