Rain

I walked into CEO Bang's office and was met by two other gentlemen in black suits talking to him. I bowed to all of them.

"Taehyung, come sit." CEO Bang motioned for me to sit down on the couch in front of his desk.

"I'd rather stand up, if you don't mind." I'm too anxious inside.

"I suggest you sit down for this." The two other gentlemen sat on the couch in front of me and CEO Bang sat next to me.  I'm restless as I really don't have time for this.  I need to make sure Rose is okay.

"These two gentlemen are from the National Intelligence Service.  They came by because I called them after receiving this."

One of the suited gentleman handed me a piece of paper covered with a transparent plastic sheet.  The piece of paper is white  and there are cut out characters from newspaper and magazines in different colors.  It took me a few seconds to read the words.

You are mine.  Leave Her or She Dies.

"This letter was addressed to you Taehyung .  Your manager is the one that opened it thinking it was a fan letter.  Once he realized what this was, he called me right away. I notified the authorities. No worries.  CEO Hwang of YG already knows. We are meeting with them now in an undisclosed location to discuss this further."

"I know." I handed them my cell phone and showed them the text.

"Huh?" CEO Bang looked even more worried.

"Please call CEO Hwang.  Don't let Rose know.  I will deal with this.  Beef up her security and the security for her group and her family.  I'll pay for the cost.  Don't. Let. Her. Know."

I've dealt with death threats last year and I'm still working on  the aftermaths of that.  It's harder to trust people and I can no longer be as carefree as I used to be.  I'm more reserved around people I'm not comfortable with.  It matured me real fast and changed me in ways that was not always for the best. I'm still suffering from insomnia until now unless I'm with Rose.

I don't want her to go through that rollercoaster of mental and emotional trauma.  I know what I need to do.

I see CEO Bang on my periphery talking on the phone. I looked to my left and stared at the glass to ceiling window made to showcase the skyline of Seoul.  The view was marred by the heavy rain.  Nothing to see but the raindrops hitting the glass ceaselessly.

"Done.  They already doubled security for everyone.  Don't be ridiculous, CEO Hwang and I are covering for all the security expenses. Let's go, we have to meet with them in  fifteen minutes."

As we walked into a large hangar with one private jet parked, I feel like a hidden camera is about to come out and the kid from Stranger Things will come out and announced that this was all a sick prank.

But none of those happened.

Instead we were ushered to a corner and seated on metal chairs around a circular table.  We were greeted by CEO Hwang and her entourage.  We bowed to each other and took our seats.

The two gentlemen from NIS were the first to talk. "So far we don't have a solid lead.  The cell phone from where that text from came is from a burner phone.   No fingerprints were left on the letter. We are continuing to investigate. We already notified our international counterparts where BTS and Blackpink are performing in the future to alert them. "

CEO Hwang of YG addressed me. "Kim Taehyung, I'm really surprised by all of these when CEO Bang called me.  To tell you the truth, Rose didn't notify us that the two of you are dating.  Imagine my surprise.  Nevertheless, we are in this situation now and we will handle this appropriately.  We will make sure that Rose, Blackpink, and her family are well protected. I will let go of the fact that Rose has breached her contract by dating you.  I will give her a second chance.  However, I am confident that you know what must be done on your part."

I nodded  and looked at CEO Bang.  His eyes, although full of sympathy, also acknowledged what needs to happen. "I understand completely.  Please don't tell Rose."

I walked out of that meeting even more drained than when I came in. It's still raining heavily, as if the sky is as heartbroken as me.

I got inside the SUV, my hair and black coat drenched.  My manager handed me a new phone and I dialed Rose's number.

"Rose, meet me at my apartment.  We need to talk."
