Love Maze

I'm back in Melbourne and volunteering with my sister in areas around Melbourne that were devastated by the fire last year.  There's still much to do.

I also needed to be with my family to clear my head.

I wanted to talk to my older sister and get her perspective.  We went to our favorite Korean restaurant for lunch to talk.  We sat in our favorite corner where hardly anyone could see us.

"I know you have such a passion for music ever since you were little.  You've sacrificed a lot of your youth to train for years to get where you are now.  You uprooted yourself from us, grew up away from us because you want to pursue your passion.  I support you a 100% in anything that would make you happy. I know how much music and your fans mean to you."

I sat next to her and gave her a hug. I hid my face on her shoulder because I couldn't stop myself from crying.

"Pursuing your passion for music is no different than pursuing the person you love.  Sometimes, you have to make sacrifices and compromise." She gave me the tightest hug and gave me a kiss on my head.

"Don't hate me for this, but I think you need to clear the air with someone." I looked up from her shoulder and met Taehyung's eyes. 

He was standing to her right, hands on his pocket, waiting for my sister's cue. My sister stood up.

"I'll leave the two of you. Taehyung-gi, please sit down and don't mess it up this time." Taehyung bowed to her and thanked her. "It's nice to finally meet you." My sister gave him a reassuring smile before leaving the restaurant.

I wiped my tears with my arms. I must look an absolute mess!

"No, you're captivating especially when you're blushing."

Did I just say that aloud? 🤭

" I gotta give it to you.  You charmed your way even with my sister.  She's a tough cookie.  Not a lot of people could crack her."

"I told her the truth."

"As you should have done with me in the beginning. By the way, how's Hyung Jin and Hyung Hoseok?"

"Don't change the subject.  But if it would make you feel better, they hardly talk to me lately.  They're still mad that I treated  you horribly."

"Ye, they tried to be my knight in shining armour."

"Lucky bastards.  How can I be yours?"

"I would like to think I don't need a knight to save me.  I'm my own." Wow, that felt really empowering to say out loud. I have to thank him.  Heartbreak does strengthen one's resolve.

"How about a life long partner?  Do you have room for one?"

"Maybe, but he has to be patient and resilient.  I have a lot of things I want to achieve and I'm sure he does, too." I took a sip of my tea, my lips were parched.

"My hyungs always praised me for being the most patient and resilient among BTS.  Lucky you. I'm available and slow is my last name. " Taehyung blurted out in English.

I couldn't stop myself from giggling.  Flirting with Taehyung does soften me quickly.

"Ok, Slow, I'm on my way to my dad's ranch to go horseback riding.  Do you want to come?"

Taehyung drove the car.  It was 4 o'clock by the time we reached the ranch. I took him to the stables and showed him our horses.  He's such a natural among animals.   I was mesmerized by him once again.

We mounted our horses and just rode over the open plain side by side.  The wind was blowing on our faces, the smell of nature was rejuvenating. The view of the mountain with the sun setting is utterly bewitching.
