"Fox! Fox in our territory!" shouted Raveneye
Last quarter-moon, a fox was spotted in ClawClan territory. Fangclaw could guess that it was MeadowClan's doing, but he doesn't want to point any fingers, and his clanmates does not know the existence of another clan yet. The leader isn't planning to tell them, but he announced that there is a new kit though. Hiddenkit had joined ClawClan and will be staying in the nursery for a while. The young'un was about three moons old, so four more moons to go. Fangclaw couldn't wait to train the kit when they become an apprentice. But enough planning the future, Fangclaw has bigger issues to deal with, like the fox! they aren't going to leave after staying in ClawClan's territory for a couple of heartbeats. Fangclaw gathered Foxwhisperer, Bluepetal, and Yarnpaw in the clearing and assigned them for the fox patrol, and left the camp after he put Troutclaw in charge.
After the departure, Yarnpaw was complaining as usual, irritating the warriors and mainly Fangclaw. "If you keep talking like this, I will surely feed you to the fox," the elderly leader mumbled. He could not wait for this patrol to be over. Hearing a snap, the ginger tom turned back to his clanmates, wondering if they set off the sound. All of them shook their head no. Turning back, Fangclaw led the patrol further. He grinned, imagining the face on that stupid fox. Brushing against bushes, the patrol were right in front of the fox den. The smells of fox was so visible. Checking the clearing, Fangclaw could see a twig snapped in half and some paw prints of a fox in the dull grass. The fox must have left early. "Bluepetal stay here with Yarnpaw and check the fox's den, Foxwhisperer and I will follow the nasty creature." Foxwhisperer pointed his nose to the left then padded forwards.
Foxwhisperer tried to keep track on any fox-scents, but none had hit his nose. The fox's paw prints had vanished. "No trail here, Fangclaw." the red, handsome warrior mewed dully. The ginger tomcat shook his head, it seems they went up the wrong path. "C'mon, we're wasting more time standing around. Let's get back to the others before something bad might happen." he demanded, walking away from Foxwhisperer.
After a while, Fangclaw came back to the clearing of the fox den, only to find no Bluepetal or the annoying apprentice. Turning around, the tomcat expected to meet Foxwhisperer's eyes, only to see a new area. It was all unfamiliar; The trees were made of sparkling stars and cloudy leaves. Knowing that he was in a dream, he clawed his right foreleg to wake up and into the real world. Nothing happened. The scarred tomcat was still in the heavenly world. Not like the whole world was already strange, the foreleg that was harmed was not bleeding. The scars on it disappeared. Fangclaw was dumbfounded. "This is not a dream - at least, not ones you been having." a gentle voice explained to the leader. Snapping his head to the direction of the speaker, he sees a star-lit, creamy cat looking up at a black sky. "Where is my patrol?" Fangclaw unsheathed his claws and hissed at the starry cat. The tom was familiar to Fangclaw, but he couldn't put a claw on it...."Where in DeadClan did you do to them?"
"They're not in DeadClan, unlike you...kinda." Fangclaw burrowed his invisible brows, what is this furball talking about? Now looking more closely, the ginger warrior gasped. It was Jospeh. They battled against LeafClan along with ClawClanners. In the end, ClawClan, obviously, won, but the price was paid; Jospeh and many others died so their friends and families can become a clan and live in justice and peace. It was very tragic. Fangclaw decided to have a vigil for them to honor them the night after the victory. Jospeh turned away from the black sky and locked his stare on the leader. "Why are yo-" the ginger tomcat was hushed by a creamy tail on his mouth. "Like I said, you are -kinda- in DeadClan. You're in a vision connected by and to our clan," The creamy tom reminded. "You aren't dead, and this connection is... limited." Jospeh paused. Looking around, Fangclaw saw how there are black, mini, holes between stars and dull stars.
"Listen, Fangclaw." the starry cat stepped forward to the ginger leader. the lit brown eyes that the dead cat used to have when alive are now dull. "I need you to announce a new rank to ClawClan: Doctor and Assistant."
"Doctor and Assistant?" The starry tom leaned his head against Fangclaw, giving him knowledge of the ranks.
"Yes, please Fangclaw. It will help the clan we fought for..." with that, Jospeh turned away.
"Wait!" The ginger tomcat called out, "Who should I choose?" and poof: The star-lit tomcat faded, leaving Fangclaw behind. Who? The old tomcat blinked, confusion struck him. What if he chosen the wrong cat for the job? The starry world around Fangclaw was now shaking fiercely and fading from existence. The warrior let it be, he knew is time for him to go back to reality, to his patrol.
