Chapter 20

"Find the Mother-Stone." "Find the Mother-Stone." "Find the Mother-Stone."

Her aqua marbles looked like they're going to pop out of Kitten's sockets. Her fur filled with sweat and anxiety. Why in DeadClan did they sent the last message to a prisoner like herself? And what is the Mother-Stone, and why is she thinking that it might be important?

And why her capturers are not here, inside the clearing of the clan? She thought that they could be in their dens, but she saw no fur. "Hello?" her call echoed through the clan. Her ears twerked as she listened to shuffling coming from.. the Doctor's Den!

"They-they took them all!" Rosepaw cried out, three kittens hugging her limbs to comfort her, but no effort were put into cheering her up. Asking the assistant of who is they, Kitten turned her head and eyed an anxious Minkbounce far in the corner. "The Clan-Cats, every one of them! Not just LeafClan, but with other clans as well." Rosepaw's eyes were filled with apprehension. "Autumnwind went with them too, and what can I do now? What happens if my mentor dies? I-I-I" -water formed in her big blue eyes.- "I don't want to be an assistant anymore, Kitten! Our clan is dead and there's nothing I can do to save them!" Rosepaw swatted the kits away and ducked under and into the nursery. "C'mon, Minkbounce, we need to leave...."

Nothing was nothing for Kitten. Somehow, she felt a need to cheer up her friend? Friend? But she hardly knows any of her capturers, excluding Fangclaw. Going inside the Nursery, she pulled her tail-tip and rested it on her friend. "Rosepaw, you had not failed ClawClan. Believe in Autumnwind and your clanmates. And I-" her words were unbelievable, she was just sprouting nice things to cheer the assistant up, but these words sounded like they didn't came from her mouth at all!

"I believe that you will do something great for your clan."

"How?" 

Kitten looked past the den wall, blankly. How can a small cat help her clan? "I had a dream, it was telling me to see something called 'Mother-Stone'... probably miles away from here," said Kitten. With her age, she probably fell asleep half-way through the trip, or being starved. Suddenly, Rosepaw's eyes lit up, as if an idea popped inside the light ginger molly. 

"Sorrel..." she said, coming to a corner opposite to the queen. Out of the darkness, the assistant was holding a green, round leaf in her maw. She sets it down, next to Kitten's white paws.

"Sorrels, as Autumnwind told me, are used to keep strength of a cat who is going on a travel. It can also stop you from getting hungry.

"I thought this herb was useless, but DeadClan and Autumnwind knew that they are a big part of saving ClawClan. Oh I should never doubt my mentor," Rosepaw rambled on, the three kits were watching with interest. Minkbounce finds it annoying. Kitten can guess that the light-ginger molly does this every time.

"O-oh! But forget my story, eat it up and go to Mother-Stack or what it is!" she scooted the herb a little closer to the Messenger. 

Gulping, Kitten leaned her head till her nose is touching the dirty ground. She licked up the sorrel and chewed it down, swallowed. "Thank you, Rosepaw, you saved our clan," she praised the assistant and quickly headed out of Nursery and out of her clan, and into the forest. Our?
