Chapter 22: The New Titans
The car ride had seemed to be lasting forever, filled with Gar and Jason fighting over the handheld game systems while Rachel told them to shut up. Rose had kept her bright purple sunglasses on, looking out the window at the passing sceneries while Dick kept sneaking glances of her.
Eventually, all the kids fell asleep as Dick pulled into a gated driveway and Rose looked at him confused, Dick had a troubled look on his face. She knew who owned this property almost immediately: Bruce.
Dick sat in the Jeep in his thoughts before both the two's attention was brought back to reality as Bruce appeared in a nice crisp suit, looking at the jeep, knowing exactly who was in it. Rose looked to Dick who looked at the man like he had seen a ghost. Bruce smiles, able to see Dick in the front seat, Dick returned the smile and turned to look at Rose. Rose, however, was already out of the vehicle, making her way to Bruce.
"Long time no see?" Bruce said, sarcastically, an eyebrow raised at the young woman as he hugged her, Rose hugged back, a large smile on her face. Dick took a deep breath, making his way out of the vehicle, approaching Bruce. Bruce held out his hand which Dick shook. "Glad to see you two back together again, it's weird seeing one half without it's other."
Dick looked down at Rose, giving her a small smile. "Is it okay if you wait in the vehicle for a couple of minutes?" Dick asked the girl who nodded, returning the smile.
Soon her tanned, brunette friend returned a smile plastered on his face as he held house keys in his hand, walking towards the vehicle, a skip in his step.
"It's not like you to be so eager," The girl said as he sent her a smirk.
"We're going to San Fransisco," Dick said and Rose raised her eyebrows at the boy as her eyes widened in surprise.
"So I finally made the cut to becoming a Titan?" Rose asked a smirk on her face as she crossed her arms, impressed with the boy.
"Not just a Titan, a leader" Dick stood in front of Rose, looking down at the girl. "I never thanked you for coming back...to save me"
Rose looked up at the boy, their faces inches away from each other. Rose felt like her heart was going to explode, it was beating so fast. "Well you know, I'm always picking up after you Grayson"
"You are aren't you?"
"Somebodies gotta do it and I don't think anybody else could live up to the job" Rose whispered looking up at the boy.
"Nobody else could replace you Rose Lewis" Dick said looking the girl in the eyes.
"Obviously, I'm irreplaceable" Rose told him a smile on her face as Dick chuckled.
"Come on now, we got places to be"

Rose stood beside Dick in the elevator, sure she had been in the Titans compound many times, but not as a member. The doors opened to reveal the living room and kitchen area. The three kids made it out of the elevator, looking around in shock at the beautiful building.
Gar and Jason looked back at the two adults, excitement and curiosity plastered on their faces. Dick nodded, the two looked at each other, then ran to explore the rest of the building. Rachel walked forward, shock on her face as she made her way towards the window. Rose looked up at Dick watching as he took a deep breath, Rose knew the story why the Titans split, she knew about Deathstroke, Jericho, she knew the truth.
Dick had made sure that Rose was the only one who knew the truth and he felt the ghosts that were in this building. He looked around the area, not a single thing had changed. Rose and Dick watched as Rachel looked out the window at the view of the city, it was truly breathtaking. Dick couldn't help as a small smile appeared on his lips as the girl was only distracted by the view.
Dick walked forward to join Rachel at the view as Rose followed behind him, throwing his bag to the side as Rose followed suit, crossing his arms Dick looked out at the view as Rose stood beside him, a smile plastered on her face as she looked at the skyscrapers around them.
"What is this place?" Rachel asked curiosity on each word as she turned to face Dick.
"Home" Dick said looking back out at the view of the city as Jason and Gar made their way to the group, everything silent as the team took in the view of the city.
"I get the big room" Jason was the first to make a comment, causing Rose to roll her eyes at the boy, a smile on both hers and Dicks faces.
