And now...Titusville: This Week (and last week) in Review!!!

I almost forgot to write tonight's bit. Vacation, ya know 😉 the lulls and lapses of memory are bound to happen when time flies by and fun is to be had.

We had one heck of a time the last couple of weeks. The major news, as we all know, was Hurricane Irma. She pummeled Florida like no other hurricane in known history. Winds, rain, and tornadoes hit Brevard County and the entire Floridian peninsula with furious rage. Power was knocked out, roads were flooded, minimal damage in tornado-stricken areas. But...

We made it. We survived another hurricane. What was arguably the worst storm we had in quite a while tested us, our unity, and our patience with hostile forces, environments, and raised tensions as supplies ran low and heat ran high. We still survived together. Disagreements occured here and there, but we remained civil and respectful for the most part. Neighbor helped neighbor, town helped town. We became one as we faced the storm together. I have to say, I am proud to be a citizen of Titusville and a Floridian. Some of you are hard-headed, crazy nuts, but I'm mad proud of you all for standing tall and strong during tough times.

Our problems here in Titusville were minimal except for the unfortunate few who were affected by tornadoes. We also offer our sympathies and mourn the loss of eight who died from carbon monoxide poisoning. Our hearts are with you and your families during these troubled times. We are on the road to recovering. Another storm is possible; bad timing considering what we went through. We will face Maria. We will face any storm that comes our way!

Another big story I heard about this week was the bomb threat and subsequent evacuation of Walmart. Reports claimed a wheelchair woman with ankle problems became irate due to her husband in jail, and channeled her anger by claiming she placed a bomb in the bathroom of Walmart (and another somewhere else, but I forgot). The store was evacuated from the threat. Just another day in Florida.

I hope to start writing bits of humor and fun, like old times. Heaven knows we need some good laughs here once more. Remember, don't do anything stupid. Word spreads fast in small towns.
