Chapter 9

Nightmare watched as the island he was at got smaller and smaller. 

He let out a sigh as he leaned over the edge of the boat. 

Maybe we should have stayed there for more than one night... Ugh... my stomach...

"Captain." Error walked up, standing on Nightmare's right side. "What?" Nightmare answered. "Where are we heading to?" Error asked. "The Island of Gods. We need to get the Map of the Sea," Nightmare said. "Wait, I thought Cross was the map..." Error said softly. "What? No. He's the key I need. I mean, if he y' know... remembers..." Nightmare said, then shook his head. "You okay?" Error asked softly. 

Nightmare ignored Error's question, summoning a scroll-like paper. He opened it, then looked at the neatly, incursive words. 

"You've called all the darkness onto thee
Now you're the one that must free the sea
Begin your journey far and wide
You must use the one would satisfied
Enter the cave with this promotion
Then all will be fine and you rule the ocean

To do this big task, you must use three things

A heart's key, the Map of the Sea, and the one that came from the tree.

"All we need is that map, then we're completely set. We just... need to find the entrance," Nightmare said with a smirk. Error smiled too, looking at the ocean. 

It was nice and sunny outside, beautiful weather. 

"Wait? Night? You never told me why you want to Diamond Apple so badly," Error said. Nightmare smiled brightly. "The diamond can grant you any wish, but only one. Well, one bite equals one wish. And I'm going to split it with the crew..." Nightmare said softly. "I see why it's so important to you," Error said. "Yeah, but... the thing is, if the apple doesn't find you worthy, you'll die," Nightmare said. "Why risk your life for an object?" Error asked, then Nightmare looked off, slightly blushing. 

"Because... a promise that two people made me," Nightmare said softly. Error smiled. He pet Nightmare on the head. "As long as you're happy, Captain," Error said.

After a few hours, the ship was completely outside of the island, vice versa. 

The ship was heading to a very special land, one where only people who were said to be worthy could get in. It was the Island of Gods. It was ancient, special. 

On the ship were Cross and Ink. 
They were sitting down, leaning on the edge of the boat, since they were up the deck. 
The two were side by side. 

They were just chatting. 

"Ink, you've been hanging around Error a lot. What's going on between you two?" Cross asked, making Ink slight blush. "Nothing...? Why do you ask?" Ink said. "Yeah sure. If you hadn't noticed, I don't believe you," Cross said. "Why not?" Ink asked a bit irritatedly, but Cross ignore his question and asked his own. "Um... if two people kiss, does that mean they're together? Bethrothed?" Cross asked, in a bit of a soft tone. "Not necessarily... Why? You thinkin' about Dream?" Ink asked. Cross hesitated, but he shook his head. "The Captain... when he got drunk, he had--" Cross was cut off when they heard someone yell.

"STORM UP AHEAD!!!!!"
Cross and Ink looked at each other, then looked where the ship was heading, only to see dark gray clouds, light blue lights flashing, and terrible waves.
Cross looked at Nightmare, who was near the wheel. Nightmare had visibly frozen, which made him slightly panic on the inside.
He saw Nightmare run down to the main part, where everyone was.
