Hajime's eyes warily opened to the sound of "Bing Bong." It's already morning? he thought to himself. He wiped his dreary eyes and sat up in his bed. It was time to confront Nagito about all this, yet it seemed so odd. They had just learned about this and they were already playing in his mind. Better now than never, I guess, Hajime thought to himself. He looked at his hand, his forearms were completely bare of any blemishes or scars. He thought about Komaeda's arms. They could've been covered with the deepest wounds he could've seen, but he hadn't seen them. Nagito covered his arms and legs all the time and if they were uncovered, he seemed to be wary of who would see what.
Hajime shook his head, as if it would shake out his negative thoughts, which it didn't.
Hajime walked to his bathroom and placed his arms onto the sink's frame, putting all his weight onto it. He looked up into his own eyes through the mirror. He stared at himself, he couldn't help but think how bad Nagito had been looking recently, the eye bags, his slight bruises and scars. Hajime turned on the faucet and washed his face weakly.
The only thing on Hajime's mind was the boy who wrote in that diary.
Hajime put on some clean, new clothes and opened his cabin door. Nagito was nowhere to be seen outside, so he couldn't confront him then, besides he wanted to do this with Chiaki.
Hajime walked up to Chiaki's cabin and knocked the wooden door. He could hear the door unlock, then the pink-gray-haired girl opened the door with a quiet, "Hajime?"
"Yeah, we should head to breakfast, now," Hajime stated, pointing in the general direction of the restaurant, "Komaeda might be there, right now. I didn't see him out here." Chiaki nodded.
The two walked to the restaurant in uncomfortable silence. If you were there, you could tell the two were on an urgent mission.
Chiaki slammed the restaurant door open, the bell overhead ringing. The two surveyed the room, Nagito was nowhere to be seen. "Dammit," Hajime whispered under his breath.
"Oh! Good morning, Ha-ji-me! And Chi-ak-i! What's wrong?!" Ibuki yelled out excitedly. "Sorry, Ibuki. We can't really talk right now," Chiaki said as she looked around the room once more before she continued, "Actually, have you seen Komaeda?" Fuyuhiko rolled his eyes. "Why do you need him? If anyone were to know, I'd expect you to know. I mean, he's your boyfriend, right?" Fuyuhiko blatantly stated.
Chiaki rolled her eyes in response before walking towards the door. "Actually, I do believe Nagito might still be in his cabin," Sonia suggested. Hajime heard well and responded with a nod and, "Thanks."Hajime sped up his pace to catch up with Chiaki. "Hey, Sonia said he might still be in his cabin." Chiaki nodded, before turning gaze from her feet to Hajime's eyes. "Sorry they think I'm dating Nagito. We just hang out and we're opposite genders, so they just immediately assume we're dating. It sucks." Hajime smiled slightly. "It's not your fault, Chiaki. Plus, I'm not that upset. I want to help Nagito as much as I can before I even confess," Hajime responded, with a slight chuckle. Chiaki smiled back at Hajime. It was nice to know that he truly did care.
Being a caring friend came first, then being a caring boyfriend came next.
Chiaki knocked on Nagito's door. In response there was a quiet, barely audible, "Chiaki...?"
Chiaki looked down, then responded with, "Hey, Nagito. Can we talk, just you, me, and Hajime?" "Uh, yeah sure..." Nagito hummed back.Hajime could hear the boy on the other end of the door unlock and open it. The boy ushered the two in.
They sat on Nagito's strangely neat couch. "Do you mind if I start this conversation out?" Nagito asked. After the two nodded, Nagito continued, "This may sound silly, but have you guys seen my diary, or even someone breaking into my cabin?"
Chiaki and Hajime looked at each other before Chiaki blurted out, "Uh, actually. We were kind of planning to tall to you about that."
Nagito's eyes shined. "You guys have seen my diary?!" Nagito excitedly yelled out, "Uh! S-sorry I was just excited."
Chiaki took the diary out of her jacket, which she hid pretty well. Hajime didn't even notice it was there until she just pulled it out. "We found it and we read it. We apologize sincerely, Nagito."
Nagito's face turned from surprise to anger to content. He was surprised they had it, angry that they read it without his consent, and happy that he didn't have to tell them verbally about what he was feeling.
"I see, now what did you two want to talk about that?" Nagito said with a smirk.
