Shaking Things Up...

Chapter Twenty-one.

"Who was that?" Sarah asks, as I reach the door and we walk out the gymnasium. I realise that both of us are still in our revealing uniform and I sigh.

"Someone." I mumble. She stops walking and gives me a look. The tell-me look.

"It's complicated." I tell her with a shake of my head.

"It's only as complicated as you want it to be, Deedee." she says and I frown, holding in laughter.

"Wow, Rara. That was deep." I chuckle and she slaps my arm lightly.

"Hey! I can be deep." she resists, making me chuckle harder.

"Yeah, as deep as a kiddy pool." I tell her and her lips turn up at the corners but she covers it with a cough.

"That isn't nice, DeeDee." she mutters sadly, turning away. I can tell she is taking this time to control her laughter that is bubbling up inside of her.

"Yeah, you'll get over it." I say, turning and walking in a random direction. She follows and catches up, looping her arm through mine. She can never be mad at me. When we were kids we used to be joined at the hip, doing everything together and if we had an arguement, we would just tell ourselfs that we're both right and move on, something a lot of people don't do. they take the dramatic route, which is a hard route to get away from.

"So, who is really really?" she chirps as we walk along the pretty deserted hallways. A few people linger and they stare at us rudely, most of them being guys.

"Mm, his name is Prescott." I tell her stubbornly.

"And...?" she pressed and I sigh because she wont stop until I tell her.

"We're going out on a date." I sigh and she frowns at me.

"And you have a problem with this, why?"

"Because he is a player, Sarah. And a jerk." I say angrily which makes her frown again.

"Then why are you going out on a date with him?"

"Because he's all so sweet and caring. And the fact that he's the hottest guy to walk this earth, helps a little." I say which makes her laugh.

"I've seen hotter." She chuckles, her eyes flashing into a memory.

"Sarah? Have you got a boyfriend you aren't telling me about?" I ask sceptically. she turns to me, biting her lip.

"It's complicated." she mutters and I chuckle.

"It's only as complicated as you want it to be, Rara." I scold and she rolls her eyes.

"Hey! don't give advise that you can't take." I tell her while chuckling. She sighs and bites her lip again, getting me worried.

"come on." I say, grabbing her arm and dragging her to the ladies room. I peek under all the stalls and lock the door to make sure no one gets in.

"So?" I ask, propping myself up on the sink. She does the same besides me and leans back against the mirror.

"Well, it's a pretty long story." she says quietly.

"And I've got time." I reply. She closes her eyes, seeming to think about what she's going to say.

"Just don't be horrified with me, okay?" she asks, opening her eyes and looking at me hopefully.

I hold out my pinkie finger and she does the same. We wrap them together and say that the same time 'Promise'. Something we started when we were five and never grew out of, probably never will if it's up to me.
